If we go DL I want Easley from Florida. I think he will fall to round 2 or 3. He is a stud and can play DE or DT.
Easley is too small at 285 and he's coming off a knee injury.

Looks like Denver was talking to Zack Kerr of Delaware (DT). Never seen him play, but some people are high on him.

Apparently not enough people are high on him cause he's projected to be either a 7th rd pick or not be drafted at all.

Because he is a small school guy who likely hasn't had the exposure or game tape analyzed for people to have a good grade on him yet. He is probably worth a shot that late as a rotational guy.

Just saying. He is worth a look.

As long as he pans out better than Carlton Powell we will be fine.

I really think we need to improve at linebacker and safety. We need more physical players and guys who can cover.

And just because we have Vickerson and Knighton as projected starters with Sly in the mix, doesn't mean we can't upgrade over Unrein and Fua. We should continue to increase talent across the board. Seattle continues to draft DL, LBs, and DBs. That's why they have such good depth and talent.
Yes we still need a SDE. We still do not have a significant pass rusher to pair with Von.

I agree you should continue to draft DL talent. But we already have 2 legit NT's and another with a high pick is unnecessary.

I am not talking about him as a NT. We don't need another NT right now unless his value is just too great to pass up.
I want him as a flex DL. 285 is perfect size for a guy who can play UT and DE in our scheme. He can be used similar to Wolfe,Ayers and Jackson but he is way more disruptive in the backfield and more explosive off the snap.
His knee injury is a concern but if he can recuperate then he will be a great 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Wow, I seriously forgot about him and how excited some were about him when he was drafted.

we have plenty of flex players and pass rushers. What we don't have is enough DTs to occupy blockers. Easley,I'm betting, never sees a bronco uniform.

Our flex DL are Jackson,Ayers and Wolfe. We do not have plenty.
We certainly do not have enough pass rushers.
We have guys who can occupy blockers, just no one outside of Phillips who can rush and get to the QB on a consistent basis.
We do not have a guy like a 100% healthy Easley on our team.

Denver should be drafting a DE, DT, LB, CB and S this year. No excuses.

We definitely agree on this. CB & MLB being the biggest needs. S and DL probably have the best value at pick #32 though.

Chris Harris wasn't drafted. Neither was Woodyard, or Rod Smith. Don't count out the late rounder/undrafted just yet.

Agreed. If we end up getting a starter at one of the two positions I listed in FA, then I'd lower their priority in the draft, but I feel that our offense will be pretty good -- only use a selection on a WR/RB/OL if needed. Otherwise we are fine.

Unless we sign Byrd in FA I don't care who we bring in, we need a S draftee in the top 2 rounds.

Not that I have a issue with landing Wolfe but 5 years vs 4 is pretty big if you draft well.

When I watched videos of Zach Kerr he looks like a giant angry bumble bee. For a guy his size he really hustles. I tried to watch him in the East-West Shrine game I was being distracted and there was a lot of shuffling on the D-line. I didn't notice too much in the beginning of the game but he looked settled down after halftime and he played better. I would like to compare him to Justin Ellis as they are near the same size but I cant find much in the way of videos of him.

The Broncos seem fine at DT. It's DE where they are lacking. Mincey is their best pass rusher at DE and they signed him off the street in the middle of the season. Ayers is not a pass rusher, and Jackson isn't either, though he's better than Ayers. With Miller and Phillips, plus a huge NT type in Knighton, the Broncos have the needed personnel to be a better 3-4 defense, at least in terms of those spots. They would need safety help, they need it anyway, and more LB help inside, which they do anyway as well.

I wish like hell Ealy fell to us. That would solve a lot of pass rush issues.
He more than likely will get snapped up in the top 15-20 though.

Donald is an underrated monster. DL isn't really what the team needs, but if he's sitting there at 32, hell yeah.

I don't think he's underrated, and he definitely won't be there when Denver picks.

Donald will likely get taken in the 20's at this point. A potential disruptive DT who can flex out will be very wanted by NFL teams.

@TonyPauline, Aaron Donald benches 500+, is expected to rep 30+ on bench, then run his 40 in the 4.7ís at 290-pound area.
If this happens he'll go higher than somewhere in the 20s.

I'd rather focus on stocking the secondary with young talent but would never complain about an attempt to build a penetrating defensive line.
