HOF Voting is getting very disgraceful.

Congrats to Maddux, Glavine and Thomas, they all deserved it, but come on. Get off your high horses voters and start getting all the guys who are deserving in. Bonds, Clemens, Biggio, Mcgwire, Sosa and Palmeiro all deserve it. Frown them for steroids/PEDs, but they still were beasts for a long time, particularly Bonds.

! DO you even know why they are not voted in? Look at the basis for a player to get into the HOF. Why Rose isn't in there either. HOF is about the best with integrity. Those guys didn't have it. They cheated. Hell, Bonds had a chance to be a possible HOF without the Roids. He wanted them to be "the best" what it cost him was the HOF. If he likes the trade off, he got it.

ANSWER: INTEGRITY OF THE GAME!

Palmiero lied to congress about it. Biggio will get in. Sandburg had to wait 3 years.

Baseball is the game of cheating. PED's are no different from spitballs, corked bats, sign stealing, horse steroids, putting foreign substances on the ball, using a nail file to scar the ball & etc.

I don't like the whole PED thing but let's be realistic. There are plenty of people in the hall who did the wrong things. The goal is to win and get paid, if you're going to shut out the PED users or alleged ones then everyone needs to be investigated and kick the ones who cheated out too.

Clemens, Biggio, Bonds should go. Not as sold on McGwire, Sosa, Palmeiro tho.

Winning and getting paid does not mean automatic HOF. It is for those with superior skills with integrity. Taking a drug is not imtegrity. Those players chose money and winning over the HOF. They knew the risk and didnt care. They are enjoying their money but must not have cared about the Hall.

Player's cheat in baseball. This is not unknown. I don't see a difference when you're talking about integrity. Some cheated a little, others a lot. You still have to put up numbers. Sustained greatness over a 10-15 year career is more than just PED's. It may help them stem the decline but if you're a HOF player you're a HOF player. Hell most of the players being caught up in the scandals are bit players and journeyman. You still have to have elite talent.

I wouldn't vote them in either. Well, maybe Biggio. That guy was really, really good at leaning into pitches with his bionic-looking armour elbow.

Integrity? Baseball doesn't have much integrity, not even when you see lower market teams having to sell their top players for peanuts just to get something from them before they sign their astronomical contracts with whoever is the highest bidder.

We have no idea how far back the steroids issue goes, or for the matter why baseball never decided to do anything about it until just in the 2000's.

Fact is, these players were the best in the game. You can argue that they got an advantage, yes, but who is to say a lot of the other players didn't also take something? Where are we drawing the line on who did/didn't take anything?

As for Biggio, he was great. Played well at multiple positions throughout his career, and really only his last year was he even worse than league average.
3,000 hits, 1,800 runs, 660+ doubles, 290 homeruns, over 1,000 RBI's, OPS near .800.

Alex Rodriguez has been suspended for the entire 2014 season by arbitrator Fredric Horowitz, who reduced the New York Yankees third baseman's ban from 211 games to 162 for his involvement in Major League Baseball's Biogenesis scandal.

The suspension also includes all potential playoff games in 2014.

As expected, Rodriguez said he will contest Saturday's ruling in federal court.

The decision will save the Yankees about $24 million based on A-Rod's 2014 salary; the team still owes him about $61 million for 2015-17.

We are talking about the players, not the owners, league, etc. We know of the former Phillies pitcher that got popped with a 50 game suspension. The dude that was the last cut player sure wasn't happy to hear he lost out to a steroid user. A ton of guys didn't do it. If you know they did it, you don't give them the honor of the HOF. They wanted stats and the big contract, they got it but don't be asking to be accepted in the Hall of Fame. You blew that part.

Alex Rodriquez got his pay and has been cheating for years. He is a fraud and he cries yet no one really cares.

Sweet! Tanaka is ours then. Even the damn Dodgers must have a budget of some sort.
The Yanks need to sign Tanaka and Jimenez or Garza and be done with it.

You don't need free agents when you're loaded with studs like Byron Buxton, Miguel Sano and Oswaldo Arcia. The Twins are sitting on a gold mine.

I hope so. But rumors are swirling that the Cubs are going to go all-in for him while the Yankees FO isn't 100% to the point where they'll go crazy with $$$.

Masahiro Tanaka has decided to sign with the New York Yankees, a source confirmed to ESPN's Buster Olney.

Tanaka's deal with the Yankees is worth $155 million over seven years and includes an opt-out clause after the fourth year, according to the source.

Wow, so much for the $189 million "mandate."

Glad the D backs lost out on that deal, way too much for a middle of the lineup guy

Most scouts think he has the best splitter in the world and is at least a #2 starter. Yes, lots of $$$. But the Yankees didn't have much choice. Nobody available was better, and when they don't make the playoffs the organization loses out on a lot of revenue. Now it will be interesting to see if they also go after somebody like Jimenez.
