I havent seen much pond hockey but it seems like the snow really slowed the pace of the offense and the ability to attack. Olympic ice would have been nice but...

So does Duchene make team Canada. looks like Hejda, Landeskog, Varly, are pretty solid locks for their respective countries

Also Mack making a strong case for taking home the calder trophy.. 25 points two goals today and 50 points forcast for his rookie season... puts him up there with RNH Landeskog and others. Looks like the game is finally slowing down for him

Go USA!
I love the idea of building a team to win not necessarily an All Star team. This is all about winning. Having Cam Fowler on it is he has done a great job his 3rd year after a mediocre sophomore season. If Bobby Ryan was still on the Ducks, he probably would have made the team. He does hold his own in Ottawa now so seemed like a surprise he didn't make it.

If you get a chance to watch the Ducks vs Canucks game tonight, do so and why you should never leave a game early to beat the rush to the parking lot. Ducks have yet to pull a goalie at home this season.

All other teams are out. Surprised Sarge didn't make the Russian team and Hedman didnt make the Swedish team.

Makes no difference, Team Sid should conquer all. Hopefully they play the Russians in the gold medal game and embarass them in front of Putin.

Avalanche has super opportunity to see Broncos play for NFL title

On Super Bowl Sunday, the Avalanche will be in Newark, N.J., close to where the Broncos will play the Seattle Seahawks for the NFL championship at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford.

After playing a home game Feb. 1 against Buffalo, the Avs will arrive about 3 a.m. EST on Feb. 2, giving them plenty of time to get some rest and perhaps head over to MetLife Stadium for Super Bowl XLVIII.

The Avs play the New Jersey Devils in Newark on Feb. 3.

In an informal canvassing of the Avs' dressing room Monday, only one player — winger P.A. Parenteau — is thinking about attending the Super Bowl. A former New York Islanders player, Parenteau has a ticket connection and can go if he ponies up $2,000.

"We'll see," Parenteau said. "It could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

There are a lot of football fans among the Avs, who are happy the Broncos won the AFC championship.

"I thought it was awesome. The pressure was on them to win, and they did. It's the best offense (Denver) against the best defense (Seattle) now, and I like our chances," Paul Stastny said. "A lot of guys, if they get the chance to go (to a Broncos game), they go. I think a lot of guys, though, once we get to New Jersey, we'll just sit and watch it on the big screen and relax."

Avalanche coach Patrick Roy watched the AFC championship game too. He remembers how the Avs' first Stanley Cup, won in 1996 with Roy starring as the team's goalie, was later credited by some around the Broncos for helping lift their self-esteem along with that of the city.

"That had an effect on them, and it was great for the city," Roy said. "Now that the Broncos are back in the Super Bowl, it's great for the people. People love their football here.

Me thinks we've already got a Seahawk-type team in Denver with great young talent and a dynamic coach...the AVALANCHE. That'll be our next major championship team in Denver, not Broncos and sure as hell not Nuggets or Rockies.

Good post. Right now, as long as we have Manning, I like the Broncos chances over the Avs. To many other teams for the Avs to beat out to win. Avs will most likely have to go through any 3 of these teams; San Jose, Anaheim, Chicago, Los Angeles, St. Louis. The finals will probably be Pittsburgh, Boston, Detriot or New York. It'll be a huge success making it to even the 2nd round.

Avs on a two game losing streak. There are rumors that the pens are interested in PAP, While I don't think hes a good fit in Colorado I imagine his value is low.
Tough to hear about Letang

Our defense is hurting us. When we get to the playoffs we won't be able to get away with it like we have in the regular season.
