Default This Story of a Prof Who Fails His Entire Class to Illustrate Obama's Socialism Has the Left Furious

http://www.ijreview.com/2014/01/1079...-left-furious/

The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”.. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A…. (substituting grades for dollars – something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that.

As what will typically happen, the liberals around here will just make silly, childish comments about posters because the subject matter is too uncomfortable to make a reasoned comment. Not that making "reasoned" comments come easy for them anyway. It's all about feelings and childlike views of the world, not to mention being masters of hypocrisy on every issue. Liberals love everyone sacrificing as long as that doesn't include them doing it of course.

You mean the very basic fact that conservatives, posters on this board, and certainly the subject of this article don't understand the basics of socialism, and what little they do understand is counterbalanced by the double standard of "it's not socialism if it benefits me" mentality? Yeah, I think el Minion pretty much nailed it. 5 of 5 stars.

Socialism on its own will fail,as will capitalism on its own. The US has a mix of the 2,has for some time. Not sure why the rightwads still can't understand this.

Explain to all of us why what Obama is doing is simply "more of the same" while college this professor whole heartedly disagrees with you.

So, those pictures, with fringe voters with IQ's that hover around 85, are representative of this College professor's views in the article posted above?

Yet another example of your idiocy being on full display......

Those fringe voters with IQs around 85 are the core of your GOP.

You know every post of yours is EXACTLY the same content. Different words, at least a few of them, but you are the epitome of broken record poster.

No system is perpetual, but

Republics last longer than Democracies, and Capitalism will always outlast Communism/Socialism.

Communism and socialism are two different things. The example in the OP is more akin to communism. We've been a capitalist-socialist country for quite awhile.

I know truth hurts, but too bad. I know liberals don't like hearing or seeing the truth about themselves, mainly their hypocrisy, but don't worry, I'll remind you. You don't like it? Oh, well, cry to someone who cares. At least I can do so without following people around just to make personal insults on posters and can do so without making threats, unlike the actions of many liberals around here.

I didn't say they were exactly the same thing, but for the purposes of my point they are....which is not as long lasting as what we currently use. Generally speaking they are the same or rather one is the product of the other..

This statement wasn't very well researched.

How long did the Roman Republic last? The Roman Empire?

Which had more elements of socialism and fascism, the Republic or the Empire?

Further, can you give examples of Republics vs. Democracies? I'd like to see where you classify them, considering there have been very, very few true Democracies in the history of the world.

Athens is probably the best example vs the Roman Republic
In you lifetime a number of democracies have sprung up and failed.

Depends on definition? No, if you're going to make blanket statements like that about socialist policies, we need to be sure you know what you're talking about. The socialist influences which also were the basis for fascism in Europe were very different under Republican Rome than they were under the Roman Empire. What were they? Did one have more than the other? If so, how do you account for the fact that both lasted at least 500 years, with one lasting arguably far longer?

I know what I am talking about. I just don't have the time to educate you today or what everybody else already seems to know. The Roman Empire was an autocratic dictatorship. the Roman Republic was not. Are you sure you know what you're asking? The Roman Empire was not a Democracy. Had no principles generally speaking that you would call democratic.

Like I said...Republics last longer.

Believe me, I know both what I am asking and what I am talking about.

"Capitalism will always outlast communism/socialism"

Please, speak to the "capitalistic" tendencies of both the Republic and the Empire vs. their "socialist" tendencies. No, it most definitely doesn't depend on how you define the two.
