And I stand by my statement that it's a stupid thing to say. If they don't turnover the ball, and the offense can consistently generate drives, no offense in the playoffs comes close to 35 points against the Broncos unless the defense plays like **** and the opposing offense is really good. If the defense plays their best they can easily hold any offense in the playoffs to 20 or fewer points, unless that offense is red hot (which is far from guaranteed--look at the Saints and Eagles offenses tonight).

Did Dwayne Bowe even try to get that 2nd foot inbounds?

The defense will be better off this time without Holliday ****ing them up after forcing a punt.

No dude. They lack above average talent at many positions (mostly due to injury), but I think they have heart. I hope they play out of their mind and hold everybody below 20 points, but I'm not at all expecting that. Not even close. I'm expecting some shootouts.

I'm not really expecting it either, but at the same time, I think it's dumb to act like they can't shut down or at least significantly slow down most of the rather underwhelming and/or inconsistent offenses in the playoffs this year, especially if they play as well as they are capable (which I don't think they've done much this year). When you basically say they will need super human efforts to merely hold teams to under 35 my eyebrow raises. This isn't a Slowik defense.

You know what else was funny that Bowe was too slow to score early in that game. Indy holds them to 3 which was huge.

The Broncos Defense had to sustain 200 drives this year (3rd in NFL). That's 12.5 drives (on average) per game.

Hard to keep down the score, when you have to trot out there that many times. Not sure where you're getting "underwhelming playoff Offenses" from.

Points per drive Offense (NFL rank):
1. Denver
2. San Diego
6. New England
11. Indianapolis

Throw in a below average Defense (Broncos Defense is 19th in points per drive), and there's reason for concern. Especially since the Broncos have lost 4 Defensive starters since week 12 (like I said before).

And San Diego didn't score over 30 in either game. Your "they are going to have to play like wild banshees to hold playoff teams below 35 points" statement remains dumb. Sorry.

This is a Chiefs Suck thread fellas, not a Broncos defense sucks thread. Can't we all get along, bash KCPud, and sing Kumbaya?

That play in particular was more on Hemingway. He should have ran between Bowe and the defender and just slowed down.

Since we stopped fumbling multiple times a game (after NE) the defense gave up 20.60 points a game (kick off return TD by KC omitted) albeit it against mediocre competition, this is over a 5 game stretch and would be good for 8th in the league. So maybe there is truth to this - I hope so!

Bumping the thread because the Chefs suck and blew a 28 point lead in the playoffs with the most DOMINANT D since the 2000 Ravens and '85 bears!
