It stands to reason that wind and cold would impact us worse than them. Broncos are a passing team, and passing is most impacted by bad weather. They win with defense and rushing.

All this means is that Denver needs to spend their first four or five selections on defense.

not exactly a road powerhouse.
the hot team in the NFC right now seems to be them Panthers... If Cam Newton continues to gain fire and that D continues to tighten up, they could be a force in the posteason.. much will be said about that next week against the Saints.

We're fairly decent against the run, albeit not sure how that changes with Vick gone. Last I checked, we run the ball pretty well and Ball seems to be, well, turning the corner and bit... he runs well and didn't fumble last week...

I actually fear a match-up with out pass D versus a Seattle team than the Patriots... and IF we are healthly, and IF we make it to the Show, I like our Offense man for man over any other team.. again, when healthy.

Sign Byrd, resign DRC and take BPA on defense in April. I like that.

thought Byrd will be expensive.

We can run too, ya know.

Also, last years epically cold Ravens game was an aerial assualt by both teams.

We can. It's just not our bread and butter. And they do it better (3rd vs. 13th in ypg). And we only average 3.9/carry, 2nd worst among the top 20 rushing teams (they're at 4.4).

Fair point. I think the wind is perhaps a bigger issue. Let's just hope for good weather in North Jersey regardless!

I am very optimistic for our running game the last two games on the road in tough places in the cold. With Moreno and the growth if Ball - I am just not worried about our offense in really any measure.

The loss of Kevin Vickerson (and Rahim Moore) may prove to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

The Broncos gave up 6.4 yards per rush against KC last week, after largely having shut down the Chiefs 2 weeks prior.

Sylvester Williams was blown back 4 yards into the endzone on a goal-line stand. He's so easy to knock off the ball, you would think he weights a buck fifty. Mitch Unrein isn't much of an upgrade over Williams.

Vickerson was the anchor of the Broncos rush defense. Without him, it will be significantly tougher to win an SB.

Vickerson, maybe. Moore? A replacable part. But give the Broncos more than one week to adjust without the big fella i nthe middle.

Yup, injuries may have reached critical mass with Vickerson. Bigger loss than many realize (recall people calling for him to be cut after the Colts game). Hopefully DRC is back this week, and Wolfe in a week or two, and things improve on D.

KC did rush effectively against us, but that 6.4 ypc is inflated by Alex Smith's runs. But, Charles put up 4.9 against us regardless.

Which is why they should have asked Justin Bannan to come back.
I am still baffled.

the broncos missed vickerson and Wolfe last week....

Moore was rarely that much help in run support

Moore did some things in helping force passes to other types of the field for less yardage. Getting him back would be a boon.

They beat the Falcons by 23 pts. Also, considering what the Panthers are now, that's a good win on the road. Let's also not forget that they had their two starting tackles injured for a good chunk of the season. That didn't help Russel out at all.

They are healthy now, and the scary thing is that they aren't even completely healthy, they still will get Thurmond back and eventually Percy Harvin.

Even if they lose to the 49ers next week, that's not an indictment on how they are as a road team. It's a division game and this game is far more important to the 49ers than it is to the Seahawks.

The Seahawks would be the toughest match up for us in the SB, but I do think we can do it, especially on a neutral field.

Denver went 30 minutes and shut out NE. Went 34 in the last KC game shutting out the Chiefs

There is some reason to be optimistic about the D.

AFC is so weak this year this flawed Patriot team could just slime their way into another Super Bowl. For the entire football world's sake we need to care care of business.

Thats what i get for multi tasking. I should just not post on this thread.

If we get to the SB, it will have meant we've won some tough games in weather. I'll take my chances against seattle.

Von had another pedestrian game at KC. Looks to me like he doesn't eat up RT's like he used to.
