I agree...it's what I envisioned in the pre season...albeit with Montee being the feature back and Knowshon the 3rd down specialist....

TD would take those to the house though

You do realize that Ball is faster than TD right?

Not to say he has arrived but your last sentence resembles TD.

He already has long run of 45. Something Moreno has never done since he got here. Glad Moreno bulked up to make up for the breakaway speed.

in timed runs in shorts he's faster, but TD was one of those guys who played faster than everyone else on the field.

Actually in 2010 Moreno had a long run of 45 yards. this season he has a long of 35.

He protected the ball vs. KC (and you know we were hunting for fumbles/TO's) and ran smart and physical.

On a number of runs I was cursing bad tackling only for the replay to show it wasn't bad tackling. That defender just got run the %$#@ over...

Moreno's career long is 36 yards, and his long this season is 25 yards. Do you just make stuff up?

Apparently you do. Yes TD played faster than his 40 time but he was not a fast back relatively speaking. Pretty much all his long runs involved defenders being caught flat-footed or missing tackles, not him winning foot races with defensive backs. He wouldn't have outrun the DB that tackled Ball yesterday. Sorry.

Well, it was a bit of both. The safeties didn't wrap up. On that big run, Poe should have had him. Was it bad tackling or good running? Where does one end and the other begin? It is a question for the philosophers.

Yeah Montee had an awesome game. He also turned in my 2nd favorite run of the season, narrowly losing out to Peyton's bootleg.

That's just straight up beastmode right there.

Quicker than I thought..

Towards the end of that run, he gives a little head fake that seems to buy him another 15 yards...finally. Good things..

Getting past that one unblocked guy on a majority of running plays leads to big runs like that.

With the way Denver is defended, there won't be a lot of taking runs to the house. There's a lot of trash out on the field due to the all the LB's and DB's in short to medium coverage, way harder to get behind everyone. It does lend itself to a lot of 8-15 yard runs though.

Ball (like last game) + DT + JT + Welker + Decker (like last game) = One of the most dynamic offenses of all time.

I appreciate the genkan etiquette but our safeties were face raped on the run and pass. Horrid.

No pass rush (and this D lives and dies by the rush) wasn't even respected. Payed-a-Ton knew he had all day to throw and used it to go deep multiple times.

Honestly, the biggest slap on the ass I can give is Del Rio allowing PM to run his game and STFU. After the 1st half 5head knew how much time he had and was feeling the game.

He knew he had time to go deep and knew who he should go after.

KC (as is their MO) didn't change their strat on D and Manning ate them alive...

Watch Demarius Thomas on that play. Eddie Mac-esque!

Also, if Decker blocks the Saftey instead of hanging back to block a CB in pursuit this play goes for 6.

Didn't hurt that the world's most dominant defense tackled like a bunch of crippled nuns on that play.

All that said, they didn't do an amazing job of complimenting the run with pass. There were a few times toward the end of the game where KC's safety and all linebackers cheated toward the LOS to stop the run, and did so with tackles in the backfield. Why we weren't using play action there is beyond me.
