They showed a stat that listed Eli has having the lowest sack percentage

Couple times Philips seemed like he would get there but Eli got it off just in time

I have a good feeling the DL will have a good game on Monday. Thier number 1 job is to contain McFadden, then limit Pryor's run opportunities. If he has to pass to get any yardage, their done.

If Pryor has to pass to catch up and make it a game, it plays right into the strength of the team. Our DB's are too good and smart for him. He will hold on to the ball way too long to try and find an open receiver, thus giving time for the DL and/or blitzing LB's to drop him.

The Jags mistake was to focus mainly on McFadden, but they let Pryor get free too often, and because they suck offensively, he didn't really have to pass. The Broncos will be a challenge that should be too much for him, and them.

There was good pressure on Eli, he threw off his back foot an awful lot, and threw a couple up for grabs, eventually turned into the int's.

He is definitely the better athlete than his brother, but not nearly the tactician that Peyton is.

Yes, on the Chris Harris int, I think it was Vickerson who just bull rushed his man almost into Manning forcing him to throw from an awkward angle.

Shaun Phillips hit his first sack-based incentive last night, earning an extra $400K for hitting (and surpassing) the eight-sack mark. Many of us might have expected that to occur, but after just ten games? Wow.

between Vasquez, Phillips, DRC, Welker, Knighton, and even Jammer Elway knocked it out of the park with the FA acquisitions over the offseason

I would like to extend Phillips another year if we can
He will probably be cheap and looks like he has a little juice left

Extend him, draft an edge rusher and let them compete

So not even considering the salary savings, are the broncos getting more out of Phillips than they would have with Doom. He is rushing as well as Doom and plays the run better don't you think?

Shaun Phillips has been exponentially better than I thought he could be.

We're very fortunate to have him.

Despite the fact I liked the Quanteriousness Smith pick, I would rather not put all the eggs in the basket of a 5th round pick that has never played a snap in the NFL coming off a torn ACL

Yeah, the FO really crushed it in Free Agency.

I don't think they will. They'll draft another edge rusher. Smith will compete with that new rookie, as well I'm sure they'll try to keep Phillips (even if it's a backup role at a smaller contract). He's proving he's worth keeping around. He also made several pass deflections last night. Those are just as good as a tackle for no yards gained. I think Ayers might actually be the one who isn't brought back next year. He's basically lost the starting job to Phillips at this point. He's pretty much done here.

Phillips and DRC are two guys on one year deals that should be extended. The FO has its work cut out for them on getting some of these guys signed to extensions. John Elway, you can do it!
