I want to see what Carter does this year as well. Hopefully he is healthy. Adams was solid he did not make many mistakes and was a pretty good tackler too, but he just isn't great in coverage. Carter is much faster than Adams and it looks like he has better ball skills.

Defniately agree with this. But I don't agree that it necessarily free's the Bronco's up to go strictly BPA in the draft. With all these short term signings, these holes are going to become open again as I imagine most of these guys won't be re-signed and are very truly just here to give us a run at a title.

All these rentals will have to soon be replaced with more permanent players. Wether they think they can keep plugging with short term FA's, future long term FA's, or the draft, remains to be seen.

From PFF...

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (CB) to DEN: 1-year, $5m

Summing up a market full of players with big talent but major question marks is Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. On talent alone is one of the most impressive players around, but canít be convinced to show it for any extended length of time and is now taking a one-year deal in which he will need to prove it for most of a season to get a pay day this time next year. He allowed 56.8% of targets to be complete last season in Philadelphia and QBs had a rating of 87.7 when throwing in his direction. He did however intercept three passes and break up another 13.

BUMP

Props to the best defensive player on the field, once again. Unbelievable pickup.

Agreed. We would not be 9-1 without him.

4 year extension this week might be the best option. He's got to like playing here.

While we're handing out extensions, let's give Harris one as well.

I agree. The focus should be on retaining our talented, young playmakers.

...Butttttttttttttttt Woodyard is priority #1, then DRC. Webster has played so well that resigning Harris would be great, but not necessarily a deal breaker.

harris 1st, then cromartie. you know what you have and know what kind of effort harris gives, cromartie is playing awesome this year, but could flip next year or the following.

I agree only because cromarte has been up and down. while harris has generally been all up. Woodyard is the heart and soul of this D I agree with who ever said he had to be first.

Yes, TonyR really does follow me around like a puppy but to respond to him, yes we can do better.

I've made no secret regarding my desire to upgrade our coverage the past few seasons, and if I'd had my way, our CB depth chart would currently read:

#1 Peterson
#2 Jenkins
#3 Alford
#4 Bailey
#5 Harris

And it would cost less than our current crew. With those personnel, we could quite literally play cover 0 all game long and crush anyone.

As for my feelings regarding DRC himself, from earlier in this thread:

You need this. Otherwise, you may soon find yourself needing Tommy John.

You understand I'm just replying to someone attacking me unprovoked (and baselessly), right?

Actually, from what I know of you, I doubt you're capable of understanding that at all.
