Is this true?

What are the facts on this case? It seems like Varly's GF's story is full of holes.
Those are th GF'S claims. Varly hasn't fessed up to anything.

Please take this with a grain of salt but I generally trust my sources as they are pretty darn accurate. This is also coming from Flyers source who has been one of my better ones in terms of accuracy.

Apparently, she was messing around with Steve Downie, hence the trade...

Tomorrow night at St. Louis will be a big test. Road game against a tough team after a loss. If they can win that one, I'm sold. If not, we will still just have to wait and see how things go.
Ok but what about tonight getting rolled? At least McGinn came back. The Blues made us look pretty bad. They're very very good, but jeez!

Irrelevant.

I don't care about the drama. I'm just trying to get the facts per my fan-ness of the Avs.

Avs were due for a couple of bad games. They did beat Calgary and caps to end homestand but they weren't playing well

Definitely disconcerting, but not reason to panic just yet. Last night was the first time they looked legitimately rattled in a game, and it really all happened in a pretty short time span. In an 82 game season, it happens to all but the best teams. Hell, Anaheim fans were probably panicking after Game 1.

The Blues are good - probably better than the Avs at the moment - so I'm chalking it up to a learning experience. Hopefully they can get it out of their system tomorrow night against a pretty poor team in the Panthers. If not, THEN we might have to start panicking a bit.

It seems teams are figuring out how to play the avs. And while the flyers are not great they DI have quite a bit of good talent.hopefully this string of losses doesn't crush the team

Worst game of the season last night... you can give them a road blowout to a good team in St. Louis, but to respond with a stinker at home against a struggling team that hasn't had success on the road... either it's a kick in the gut wake up call or this is the beginning of a malaise. This is where we see how good a coach Roy can be. Under Sacco this team would sink into prolonged funks... the challenge of avoiding that is staring Roy in the face.

there isn't anything to figure out when teams are out skating you, and have better goal tending.

The injuries are rough. Teams are really contesting the puck in the neutral zone and we're not able to retain possession. This is the first bout of real adversity we've faced. We'll need to see how they respond.

I'm not worried about Avs, just a little slump.

The caps are surprising me this year. They aren't the best on defense but it's a tougher team up front this year and more of a b**** to play against, especially lines 3 and 4.

Between the Tanguay injury and Downie trade, we really have lost the ability to roll out three solid scoring lines. Talbot is fine I guess, but he's more of a defensive forward, and Downie brought a lot of energy to the team. Without those two guys, the third line has been pretty bleh.

I am not worried about the Avs. The Tanguay injury is tough since we didn't have a lot of forward depth to begin with. The real question now is how this team copes with it and develops from here.

I hope we can find a way to get another quality D man in the fold but they're expensive and I don't know that the Avs have the pieces to get one.

This is the Avs "we will be here all year" statement game.

It would surprise me not to see them in the playoffs

Nice statement game after the last two losses. Even the mighty Blackhawks can have a stinker now and then.

IR works differently in hockey. When someone's on IR, they can't play for 7 days, but that's really it. After that, he could come back any time, but you'll probably have a week or two's notice notice since he'll need to start practicing with the team again first.

McKinnon looks like he's gonna be fantastic. He's faster than Duchene, and that is truly amazing. It may take him a while for his brain and his hands to catch up to his skating speed, though.

Well I won't pull a maven, man is this game painful for me. Had to turn it off. Colorado is taking the Hawks to pound town.
