3. The other 2 Colt TD drives came on short fields (50 yards, 41 yards), after the multiple 3-and-outs by the Broncos Offense.

All of this, while missing Bailey and Woodyard, with 2 dumb Broncos turnovers inside the Colts 15 yard line...giving the Defense no rest.
Great post. Defense was not the blame tonight. Overall they played good and gave our offense more than enough chances. Offense either fumbled or went 3 and out

The Colts only freaking long drive of the game came right after Manning's Safety (66 yards).

The Broncos Offense is all or nothing. Multiple 3-and-outs, or score in 2 minutes. Still, even under those impossible working conditions, the Defense completely shut down the Colts on 11/16 drives.

When you have the worst pass defense in the league, one guy isn't going to fix that on his own.

The momentum changer was the fumble by Holliday, and the ultimate changer was the safety.
After that, our offense did squat and the defense struggled. Basically setting up Indy with great field position throughout.
The defense did seem to do an okay job though considering the circumstances, twice the offense turned the ball over inside the 20 setting up 10 points there, a safety is 12 points, tack on twice starting at the 50 or better, defense wasn't given much opportunity at first. Plus, had their hands on a couple throws from Luck that could've been intercepted.

Well said. Plus some terrible penalties.

Even if they offense didn't score points on some of those drives, if they didn't 3 and out so many damn times, at least give the defense a blow. I think we had like 8 straight drives end with a punt.

Yes, he's right in this case. But, I wish he'd leave out the "without player x, y, z" he puts in every post about the defense. Every team in the league has to deal with injuries, so I hate the constant whining excuses about injuries. And you could make the same excuses for our offense in this game. Things probably go a good bit better with Clady and Franklin anchoring our OL. But guess what? They weren't available and other guys need to step up. But this constant silly notion that Woodyard alone brings rainbows and unicorns is tired.

Denver never really recovered after safety.

I was impressed with what the D did overall, being in the spots they were. Nacho even made the play to strip and recover the fumble.

Hillman and Holliday's fumbles were just back breakers. And the patch work o-line showed; losing both starting tackles and playing a G out of position; Kuper is coming off a lont term injury and we're on our 3rd string center who's also playing out of his natural position.
