What a ****ing fail of a post. Bull**** revisionist history. The fight starts with Roy landing a very solid blow with another avg shot in. Vernon gets in a glancing blow to start with a another 2 average ones in later. None of the 3 are anywhere near the level of Roy's first shot. Then as they spin around some more, Roy gets in another 3 average shots (similar to what Vernon did with the 2 I mention). Then they wrestle to the ground. So Roy gets the best shot in and lands more total punches.

Typical RW fan.... Thinks the hockey universe revolves around them. Revises history to ensure that their point of view holds.

We have massive injuries at defense and fans knew it will be ugly to start. 6-1 ugly? Didn't expect that type of beating from the Avs.

I think the Devils will surprise a lot of people. Very, very deep at forward this year.

People harp on losing Kovalchuk, but he scored four even strength goals last year. Four. The same amount as Stephen Gionta. Great player, of course, but the Devils are a much better team now than they were last season. Replacing Clarkson with Clowe is a wash.

Out:
Kovalchuk
Clarkson
Sullivan
D'Agostini
Ponikarovsky
Kostopoulos
Barch
Hedberg

In:
Jagr
Ryder
Clowe
Brunner
Olesz
Schneider

They should be able to dominate puck possession, and the Schneider/Hedberg switch alone will make a huge difference. The ten-game stretch when Marty went down arguably cost them the playoffs last season.

Yup, he sure damaged Vernon's fist with that bloody eye of his! Lemme guess, he got that while skating over to Vernie?

So blood is what counts? You realize that Shanahan collided with Roy before anything happened with Vernon. The only quality punch was the first one landed by Roy. They even slowed it down for you 2:51. Plain as ****ing day you moron

Gotta love RW fans.... Show them video and they still think their **** doesnt stink. By far the most worthless fan base in existence today.

So the fact that Mike Vernon split Roy's face open and they had to wipe up quite a lot of his blood from his face? Vernon owned him with a couple of really good hooks.

Vernon won that fight, deal with it.

and there it is...just what I knew was coming. avs fans have such an inferiority complex that they edit, interpret, and nuance what is plainly visible. I think what really drew the blood from roy's face was that invisible skate that swooped by and cut him as he collided with, um, gordie howe. then he fought Vernon and slew 8 ogres with one hand tied behind his back and even managed to win that game!

You realize your reference says 57% vote and you translate that into "owned."

The best blow was landed by Roy. Deal with it. More punches were landed by Roy. Deal with it. And then go **** yourself

C J Ross in the house!

With you being a wings fan, I knew what was coming too... Someone who thinks the hockey world revolves around them.

This thread is getting funny. On a side note, it's easy to tell the Denverite Bronco fans from those who are from other places when you see these kinds of threads. I only root for Colorado sports team personally because that's where I was born and raised. Mixing teams from different cities just feels gross to me, especially rivals. How the **** is anyone a Bronco fan and a Red Wing fan?

Exactly right duch. Message recieved by the NHL. Love roys fire, however here on out let your squad do the talking. Everyone crying bout roy sending out his goon squad are overly sensitive. Enforcers keep yourr. Stars clean and do work. Would youwant your goons to protec5 your stars? Thats right, STFU

Until Colorado has a team in a sport I have no team in that sport. Just the way I'm wired. Rooting for some random team from somewhere else isn't my thing.

PIT 3 NJ 0

Nice effort from the Flower....especially in the third with some big saves including one on a penalty shot. His confidence really needed that, especially with no one behind him now (Vokoun out 3-6 mos). Sid with a nice goal. Geno was quiet outside of creating a couple chances, one of which was flubbed by Jokinen.

We looked great in the first, NJ took it to us in the second (for some reason we have always had bad second periods) and meh in the third until that third goal which swinged the mo back. Scuds looked good tonight. Olli Maata had some deer in the headlights moments which is to be expected since this was his first game and his debut was one year ahead of schedule. He needs to get more comfortable if he is to stay beyond the first 9 games.

I hope Nealer is ok.
