I would take that bet that Trindon Holliday had 2 returns for Houston in the preseason. I'll bet as much as you want to lose. Preseason has to be taken with a grain of salt since most of the players that were on the coverage teams were just camp fodder anyways. Only 2 teams put in waiver requests for him.

He was cut because he clearly wasn't the same player after the Kevin Everett hit. He needed a change of scenery.

3 is not 2. Sure after 3 games he did have 2 but did he have 2 after 4 games?

Kubes waived Holiday apparently because he didn't have the patience to wait to see if he matures in the job and can be trusted to make good decisions & not fumble.

The Broncos on the other hand were kind of desperate for a return guy. We had Jim Leonard, and Decker in a pinch, and that is it. Fox wisely put Leonard in on the high pressure kicks, and that allowed Holiday to get comfortable and gain confidence. Slowly, but surely, Holiday earned more and more of the coaching staff's trust.

The rest is NFL history.

Didn't Kube also cut Jacoby Jones?

Man Texans cut Holliday and I believe let Jacoby Jones leave via free agency. Now they are hurting for a return game.

I still remember people on here wanting us to get rid of Holliday due to he fumbled his first game for us.

Does that surprise you? At some point this pre and regular season, some on the Mane wanted either Decker, Hillman, or Ball either cut or traded away. I am sure there are more, but you know what I mean.

I remember a **** ton of maners last year wanting Leonard to take all the kicks and punts because he was "safe". Fine, if you want a mediocre team, play safe by all means. If you want to be special, you got to take chances. I am stoked that we have probably the best special teams in the league. That will be huge for us. Hell, it was huge for us in our playoff loss. If Moore didn't choke, those 2 TD's from Holliday would have been the difference in that game for us. I love that home run aspect Holliday brings.

on a random note I am pretty sure Holliday got an offensive snap on the Bubba run. Was the top WR faked the end around to him. Just another thing that a D has to prepare for

yep, I said in this thread or another we were going to break out some of the holliday package. I love the fact that we used he and his package (sounds so dirty) as a decoy for the double end around or double reverse or whatever that was.---Had one of the OL made the block on the corner towards the sidlines it would have been a HUGE play too.

in order to have 3 you have to have 2. you cant have 2 without 1 cant have 5 without 4. so if he had 3 then yes he had 2.

The risk reward is starting to become a problem with this guy. Broncos have 2 losses. In both losses Holliday's mistakes have been a huge reason for these 2 losses. Colts game fumble and this game. DRC stupidity to try for the int is one thing, but the opportunity for that stupidity wouldn't exist if Holliday did his job. Welker wouldn't be in there at the end of the game if Holliday was reliable to call a fair catch. With most kick offs going to back of end zones his only impact is on a punt. And more times than not he screws it up.

risk vs reward.
we all hold our breath when Holiday circles under a kick.
Poor judgement?
that part is inexcusable!
welker, he is in denial. accepts blame for not clearing everyone away from the punt, but FAILS to admit he was put in that position to CATCH THE F'ING BALL, NOT PLAY TRAFFIC COP !!! just like his buddy PFM, who says he wishes he had a last chance to posess.
both guys being eaten alive by crocodiles !

Holliday should have made the play, but JDR should have just got to halftime up 24-0, and it wouldn't have mattered.

Imagine job where your only responsibilty is to decide whether you should catch a football or not. A simple, basic calculation of "is this safe or is this stupid" combined with your God given physical talent and you can make millions of dollars. And yet you are too dumb to even do that. Cruel irony. That is some Chef Luigi level stupidity right there.
