Poor decisions made all around on week 1. You would think guys who take their profession seriously would be more aware of gametype situations and best scenarios for those said situations. Nope, knuckleheads gonna knock head herp derp oh wait we lose

If it was a close game, that gaffe could have ruined us. Same with Trevathan. Gotta clean up the basic football IQ things ASAP if this powerhouse is gonna roll.)

I love when fans get angry at players who are going full bolt in the heat of the moment.

I'm beginning to see why they wanted him to be on the field more.

Danny is a player for sure. He plays strong for his size too. He is what DJ wished he was in his time in Denver.

He is very similar to Woodyard, plays hard, has a nose for the ball and really makes the most of his size.

Our staff has quietly developed a very good, young LB corps and we are still without our best one.

I love Trevathan's play, he almost makes me think I was overrating DJ Williams a little bit.

Got to love what Knighton is doing in the middle as well. Moving Woodyard to MLB was smart.

Still I cannot wait to see Miller come back. Throwing a Safety or CB in late every down got old.

Danny leads the Broncos win over the Giants with 10 tackles, 1 sack.

Trev and Knighton combined for a couple massive stops inside the 5 yard line. Too bad the idiot ref's nullified a historic stand. Giants finish with 23 rushing yards on 19 carries, with 5 TFL's.

Most of that was with Broncos in Nickel Defense.

He's playing great. Really happy we have a staff who can identify and develop defensive talent.

No question JDR has developed some quality guys on this defense. None of them are named guys we brought in like Bunkley a few years ago, these are young guys with upside who are being asked to play to their strengths and not roped into a system. They are also making it very hard on offenses to run the ball and letting the coverage help them pass rush with some blitzes put in their to mix things up.

Overall, very happy with the defense especially if they can clean up all the flags and stop making the same errors over and over again....

Here's to hoping that JDR decides to become a career DC (ala Dick Lebeau), and not wander back into a head coaching job.

I'm not sure of the posters, but he didn't play well in preseason and JDR went on record saying he has to play better.

Probably an example of a veteran big fella who knew he was going to make the team loafing it in games that don't matter. And also an example of how and why preseason is largely meaningless.

If Trevathan's play keeps up the next 4 games, I see no way you can take him off the field in favor of Irving moving to the middle and Woodyard back to the weak side. I think Woodyard remains our MLB permanently

This. When Von comes back.....Irving goes to the bench. Simple.

Current Bronco defensive players, drafted or signed as undrafted free agents by the Broncos:

FS: Duke Ihenacho (UDFA)
SS: Rahim Moore (2nd round)
2. CB: Chris Harris (UDFA)
3. CB: Tony Carter (UDFA)
SLB: Nate Irving (3rd round) (backing up Von Miller (1st round))
MLB: Wesley Woodyard (UDFA)
WLB: Danny Trevathan (6th round)
SDE: Derek Wolfe (2nd round)
WDE: Robert Ayers (1st round)

Of the current starters on D, only the two DTs and 1 CB were not signed or drafted by the Broncos out of college.

On offense:

RB: Knowshon Moreno (1st round), Montee Ball (2nd round), Ronnie Hillman (2nd round)
TE: Julius Thomas (4th round), Virgil Green (7th round)
LT: Ryan Clady (1st round)
LG: Beadles (2nd round)
RT: Franklin (2nd round)
WR: Thomas (1st round), Decker (3rd round)

15 of 22 starters in base formations (4-3 and 11 personnel) (counting Clady), that is impressive.

Oh yeah, after these couple of games I don't think anyone is thinking about making that move.

Malik Jackson is another guy who gave maximum effort/performance with a limited number of snaps.

I was doubtful of him last year, but this year, he physically looks a complete player. He's really filled out and what I really liked from his game against the Giants was his sheer violence and snap with his hands/arms in the game. He was beating OL with punches/counter punches and didn't really allow OL to get leverage on him.

Very good signs.

Love the depth on defense. This team is so much better at finding defensive talent now than it was in the Shanahan era.
