so there is still a question mark. Pressure did step up after that, but also Del Rio made some line adjustments.

But Phillips did get the 2.5 when Flacco couldn't step up in the pocket. The CENTER of our line pushed the Bmore line back and that was a big reason for the 4 sacks we did get, and also the reason there was no running room for the ratbirds. Overall we got a lot more pressure on Flacco than last January. We aren't going to set the world on fire in sacks before Von gets back but we will hold our own. Thanks to having a stout interior.
Exactly. The DTs did a very good job in taking away the run, then forcing pressure up the middle. The importance of that can't be taken for granted. We were still able to outmuscle their OL in the trenches and disrupt the QB.

The best way to be.

Don't sleep on the Giants. That could be a tough game in the Meadowlands. I'm not remotely saying they're "better than us", just that the prospect of them beating us in their house isn't all that outlandish.

How many sacks will Peyton get this year? Pressure didn't really show up last night until number 18 made Baltimore very predictable.

The Giants are not even remotely in the league of the Broncos. I'm not saying they couldn't play down to them and blow a close game, that is always a possibility, but I think anyone who actually predicts the Giants beating the Broncos just isn't paying attention.

I also think we could be in for a bit of letdown type game next week. We just destroyed the champs, now we go east coast, non-division game, etc. It would not be the worst thing in the world to happen to lose it being that it's a non-division game.

I'm not predicting a Giants win. But you said nobody can match the Broncos in their first 6 games, and I'm saying losing to the Giants in the Meadowlands wouldn't really be all that shocking. Good organization, decent defense, good QB, on the road, on the east coast, letdown, etc. Broncos went 2-2 playing EST last season.

I'm saying no team can match up with the Broncos in the first 6 games. That doesn't mean the Broncos can't beat themselves in those games. It just means the Broncos should be expected to win all of them.

Again, I'm thrilled with the result last night but there are some circumstances that need to be considered in an unbiased evaluation of the whole thing.
I don't think for a second anybody here thinks without Miller on the field the pass rush isn't going to suffer to some degree. I will say though, with a much improved secondary, I think we'll get more coverage sacks then we did last year. But to have Phillips as depth once Miller comes back is going to be icing on the cake. I think Phillips will give you just as many sacks as Doom would but he also has that ability to cover those flats and he has great ball skills. To me, losing Doom now that we have Phillips really isn't an issue. The issue was losing Miller for 6 games. But hey, only 5 more to go and he'll be out there destroying it...........

I can't wait to see a nickle pkg with Miller and Phillips on each side. Honestly, with Miller back, it's going to open it up even more for Phillips. And with both guys being true LB's and not just a DE like Doom is, the defenses will be left guessing if they're going to rush or drop back.

Manning bowl, man. everything else goes out the window when you have something unpredictable like that. you never know. in this league, if a QB is balling basically nothing else matters. it's not like Eli doesn't have weapons.

I agree. I believe the Giants will be a force in the NFC playoffs, but they start slow every year. If this was a December game I might have some worries, but.in September; they are getting curb stomped.

What in the world is douchey about looking at a schedule and going "ya, we're gonna win all of those".

Cause I think we will.

Give me a break. You honestly think the Giants are "no match" for the Broncos? Yeah ****ing right. Confidence is great. Saying nobody on the schedule is any match is flipping idiotic.

Yeah we're gonna beat the Giants, Colts, Texans, and Patriots, etc. no match. I'm sure the Bolts, Chiefs, and Raiders are just going to lay out the red carpet too. Thanks for letting me know. I'll call Hancock and start planning the parade.

Ravens are LUCKY they made it to the playoffs last year with Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and a slew of other characters that either weren't on the roster last night, or were injured during the course of the game.

That game was a buzz saw waiting to happen. Don't think the 12th man didn't have a hand either. They did.

But yeah, I'm sure Manning will throw 7 TD passes a game for the rest of the year, and put all games out of reach in the 3rd quarter.

The Pats a few years back didn't have a great D and they went undefeated. You're saying this offense can't be as good as that one? Heck, I'd say this offense can be just as good (although slightly different) then our 98 team, only with a better defense (of course counting that Miller is on the field). And that team won it's first 14 games. I hear what you're saying, don't get over confident. But to suggest we don't have a decent shot at going 6-0 is just a silly as somebody saying there's no team that can beat us. It happens every year, quite a few teams usually start out 6-0, 7-0. I certainly think we can do it.
