2. He's ok at making plays in space, but not fast enough to be a WLB.
3. Not better than Von.

Backup SOLB.
You're so full of **** you have to use subjective language to shape your argument. He hasn't been in the league three years. This is his third year. He might be a career backup, but you're just guessing.

The point is you've hadn't had a chance to see him play enough to make any of these assessments. And he really hasn't been on the field enough in real games to prove it one way or another.

He's acting like Nate is the second coming of Terry Pierce. It's ok, I'll just keep adding warm juicy slabs of crow to Price's plate.

Just wanted to pop in and say that "career back-up" is not a negative thing.

IMO, a fourth round pick that plays special teams and functions as a stable career back-up and situational defender ended up being a pretty solid pick.

They're not all Elvis and Brandon.

We could do way worse than him. He'll know where to be, he'll make tackles.

Lenon is the prototypical journeyman LBer, he's played for 8 different NFL teams, the Broncos will be his 9th NFL team. I have to stipulate "NFL" team becasue he's also played Arena League Football.

Irving was a third rounder.

The real question on Irving is how does he play in Von's absence. Obviously he's not Von but if he can be productive and lessen the blow then it would be huge for us to stem the bleeding for 4-6 games.

No. More like Mario Haggans.

You haven't/won't be serving anything for dinner bozo. Irving won't be playing at MLB this year, in case you didn't get the memo.

Whatever happens years down the line is of utter insignificance. Mario Haggans eventually developed into a starter his 9th? year in the league. Big whoop. The Broncos needed a starting MIKE this year (2013).

Apparently the Broncos have. Hence why he's been shifted away from MLB to backup SOLB YET AGAIN.

And no, I don't consider him 1st string due to suspension or injury.

There is really nothing to suggest that this is anything more than a temporary shift based on Von's pending suspension, during which time he's likely to be the starting SOLB.

This offense better score alot of points first half of the season.
^ Yup. Hate to be a chicken little but the defense is slowly unraveling right before our eyes and a lot of people are acting like everything is fine. Add in our troubles at OL and RB on O and this team might have a rough start to the season.

Irving is moving to SAM because Von Miller is out for a minimum of 5 games. They've been playing Irving primarily at SAM because the Broncos are fully aware that Miller, most likely, will be gone for a while. Irving has also been playing MLB.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Von will be missed for sure....but I think the defense is still going to be pretty solid. I think coverage is going to be mush better, which will help mask the absence of our best pass rusher a bit.

To make up for a lack of pressure from the front they have to take away from the coverage to blitz.
