This just proves the FO is either incompetent at judging center talent, or they tried to blow smoke up everyone's ass in saying Ramirez was the starter all along.

You really think they thought Ramirez was the answer when the minute after Walton got hurt they brought back Koppen, and as soon as he got hurt brought in Lilja?

Then when Kuper came back they immediately had him start working at center. No hesitation.

So that's four guys now they've wanted to start over Ramirez. The only guy they like LESS than Ramirez is Phillip Blake, who is still a guard despite our issues at C (that's a clear warning sign for Blake).

They've been blowing smoke because they aren't going to just admit publicly that Ramirez is a massive liability.

At center, yes. He's been at guard throughout camp though and running with the 2nd team.

I remember when he was drafted he was being compared to Dan Neil because of his toughness and run blocking. Hey if he turns out to be a quality guard all the better.

Who's isn't?

It is not like we are a Chicago, kFc, Oakland, where their 1st team OL sucks!

I am more worried about getting through the 1st 6 weeks without Von than our OL. They were still able to run the ball when they wanted to on the fumble/td drive. Ram would start for Chicago and be an upgrade.

So I'm rewatching the game and evaluating.. So far I don't get the Ran Ram hate. He made one mistake picking up the DT allowing Wagner to stop the run for a loss.. But he is making contact with anyone and everyone he can.

He's not getting abused or overwhelmed in pass pro or run blocking. The hold on Mebane would have been called, but on the play Beadles didn't recognize the player dropping and took Clark's man, Clark stood still and Man Ram was flat out beat on the play. A chip from Beadles eliminates that..

Anybody with half a brain could figure out that there was no way Mann Ram was going to start at center against Baltimore.

Kuper gets a chance to prove he can do it. If not, Ryan Lilja is there as an option. Ramirez will return to being swing guard depth.
