I think they are looking for a rb who is just camp guy. Someone who can play quarters in the preseason games when we sit Hillman and montee.

Lance just sucks and you can't have him playing a full game at rb in game 4 and some time in game three.

So they sign a guy just to play some quarters and be camp fodder, yet ball sucks and can't handle the workload?

Maybe they sign a RB to compete with Hester and ball for a position.

I don't get why people hate Lance with such a passion. He's certainly not going to be mistaken for TD, but he's been our most reliable depth and utility player for several years running now, so whether he makes the team or not, cut the guy a ****ing break imo

Your probably right though Willis would be able to step in and get up to speed quicker. Turner is intreaguing(SP?), Buston should have fresh legs but he has had a ton of knee injuries. Glad I am not the one who has to make that choice.

I still wish they took Bradshaw earlier in FA.

If anything I would rather they pick someone off a PS and develop them than pick up an aged vet who's best years are behind them.

Beanie Wells has the most potential. He shows his ability when he wants the problem is his Vagina shows up too. He does run with speed and power though.

Time to oil the creaky bones and get the knee wraps out. I'd fax them... but we all know how that goes.

... packing bags. Getting in the car.

So wait, 40 yards on eight carries is running "like a boss" but 28 yards on six carries teh suck? What a difference 0.3 yards per carry make.

He looks pretty legit. Much better early showing than Montee. Lots and lots yet to be proven though.

Things like this are being said about Lacy:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...en-bay-packers

Have you seen any such things being written/said about Ball? This of course proves nothing, but you have to admit it's understandable why people are saying this type of thing. Lacy has impressed. Ball? He's practically been a non-entity thus far.

Context. Watch how Eddie ran and watch how Ball ran and tell me which back was more impressive. Not saying anything other than so far Eddie Lacy has looked really impressive (and I wasn't a big Lacy fan,) I preferred Le'veon Bell coming out.

Sign them all we can have a guest back every week. Plus they'll probably all end up hurt and fumbling anyway so we can justify the cut after every game.

I'm all for bring Willis back. He was the best back on the team, before he got cut.

he wasn't, though

if any of those FA RBs get any meaningful snaps in regular season in Denver then the RB situation is pretty bad imo.

also, Fozzy Whitaker isn't a FA. He plays for SD

Because obviously the guys that are on the team know (Knowshon, Hillman, Ball wasn't on the team late year) are lighting the world on fire.

meh, hard to say considering what we've seen so far. but that's the point. if these guys are really worse than the FAs left out there (I don't think they are), Denver is in trouble.

It really depends on why the front office is bringing in a back. If it's a "we need a body to finish out preseason signing", there are a ton of young camp fodder backs here. If it's an "oh s**t Ball and Hillman aren't ready and Moreno is already dinged up signing," that changes things a little bit.

Cedric Benson-30, with a lot of miles on him. I always thought Benson had decent vision (might work pretty well in ZBS). Doesn't run as hard as he looks like he should. Has some off field baggage. Injury history as well. Pass

Ryan Grant- 30, with a lot of miles on him. He's done. Pass
Tim Hightower-Relatively young, honestly don't remember a lot about him except he's slow. Basically, Knowshon only not as good a blocker or receiver. Pass
Brandon Jacobs- 31, impressive size/speed combination when healthy. Nimble for a guy his size. Has knee problems. If he's relatively healthy, might be worth a look.
Javarris James-Edgar James's cousin, young, never produced in the NFL, also a bit a an arrest record, pass.
Willis McGahee-We know what we're getting here. Probably the most likely guy we sign. Honestly, I think he might wind up starting week one for us, if Ball isn't ready
Mewelde Moore-Don't remember anything about him. Wiki says he's slow and north of 30.
Isaac Redman-Might be a decent power goal-line back. He's relatively young and flashed some ability between the tackles. Basically, a younger, slower, less-talented Willis- Pass
Javon Ringer-Young, good back in college, honestly, don't remember much about him as a pro. Might be a guy to bring for a look as a developmental guy.
Brandon Saine-Speed back (sub 4.4). UDFA, never really done anything of note in the NFL, Pass.
Kevin Smith-Was productive a few years ago. Stats have been declining steadly for several years, might be a preseason depth fodder depth signing.
Michael Turner-Was good, I think he's done, pass. .
Beanie Wells-I was really high on Beanie out of OSU. He's still young, still has ability to move the chains. Decent size (240ish). Had a thousand yard double digit TD season for Arizona. Might be another possibility.
Fozzy Whitaker. Young, vaguely remember him in college. Preseason depth fodder.
Eddie Williams. Young Redskin practice squad guy. Preseason depth fodder.

Montee Ball sucks.
Hillman is change of pace back. We need a RB that relieves pressure..If we had a average RB last year, we would have won the game against ravens last year.
Good decision to look for other options and not stick with a guy like Montee.
