The player busts through the line of scrimmage, making a huge sack to end the opponent's drive, thus sealing the victory. He hangs his head, and quietly goes off to the sideline, deep in contemplative thought about the game. What he did right, what he did wrong, what he could do better. As the game ends, the player stoically exits the field.

Now THAT'S entertainment!

Am I the only one that thinks football is entertainment, and enjoys watching people be entertaining? Some are really stupid, like Merriman's "lights out" dance, but overall I think it can be fun, and funny.

Eatin Greedy was awesome. Bring that back. I agree with Twerkin, that would be hilarious.

Moot point.

NFL has outlawed these types of celebrations. But if he could, I like to see him bring back a part of the old Pee Wee Herman dance:

Word, word. I am hoping for a sack in a snow game. Von puts some snow on his glove and snorts it off. He hugs Methwolfe and bellows out a big #awooooooooo.

I think they're only outlawed if directed at the opposing team/fans.

I think the sack dances are in good, clean, fun. As mentioned earlier, it's another form of entertainment in a game. Let him have fun. Hell, if it motivates him and the team to get after the QB some more, then more power to him. Dance away, Von!

I'll take that bet. Look at the list of things not allowed:

Quote:
Sack dances, the home run swing, incredible hulk, spiking the ball, throwing or shoving the ball, pointing, pointing the ball, military salute and dancing in the direction of an opponent will result in a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

I think he should run up to the ref and put his hands out like he wants to arrested.

Yeah, when the refs were going around training camps explaining the rules they specifically said, "no sack dances, or other celebrations after TD's including military salutes." The NFL cracked down on Denver this year. The mile high salute is tradition among our RB's, hopefully that means no lambeau leaps either or that's just straight up BS.

NFL: Mile High Salute, spinning football are allowed

The Mile High Salute is not illegal. Spinning a football is not illegal. Spiking the football is not illegal.

That's what NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino said on "The Rich Eisen Podcast" this week, clarifying what recently had become a confusing issue about touchdown celebrations.

"The only time things like that would be illegal, and there's no change, is if that was directed at an opponent," Blandino said. "A major point of emphasis this year will be taunting. Acts that are directed at an opponent, whether it's verbal or spinning a football or throwing a football at your opponent, that is a foul.

"Really, there's no change to the rule. ... As long as it's away from opponents, it's fine."

So there is no rule change. Blandino said there is an "emphasis" on taunting, especially the verbal stuff. But that's always been the case. We're not sure exactly how things got so mangled publicly, but we've heard a ton of misinformation on the topic nationally over the last week.

Glad to clear that up.
This little "article" only mentions TD celebrations. But I'm sure the same goes for sack celebrations. They're all only illegal if directed at an opponent - taunting - just like always.

Maybe Von can come up with a "Drop the Urine Sample" dance?

He can compare notes with DJ Williams.
