If I had to summarize this practice I would say Med called it.

But take it with a grain of salt.
Bmoore nailed it 2 years ago before Orton was benched for Teabag.

We had the #2 overall defense last year, and by all appearances have improved overall. I think part of it is definitely the fact that our defense is bad ass. We also have a banged up o-line with guys getting moved around all over the place and some guys not even in good football shape (namely Lilja).

Oh and don't forget that defenses usually have the edge early in camp.

Interesting about McCray and have been hearing more and more about him recently. What I wonder is where he fits. Hard to imagine he makes the roster at LB unless a surprise cut happens to Bradley or Johnson. So naturally as a rookie you think PS. But I wonder if he can clear waivers if we try to stash him?

A lot of it will depend on how he plays special teams and whether or not he makes lots of plays in the preseason.

Irving should be on that list.

I thought there were many great camp reports this year. Some every bit as good as Khan's. In fact everyone did a great job and all are appreciated (I hope)

There's no report like the Khan report. Hopefully Khan goes to more practices.

If he stays healthy, they will have to have McCray on the final 53 it looks like.

Stewart Bradley at Mike was a big surprise, but he actually played pretty well and he also plays special teams. Nate Irving does not play special teams and didnít do too much. The big surprise at this position for me was Lerentee McCray. This guy plays like a dog with rabies. During one drill he destroyed Hillman seven yards deep into the back field and just kind of stood over him. Heís been running with the second team, but plays really lose like he knows what heís doing.

Defensive Backs Ė The DBís pretty much dominated. There were no major missed assignments and everyone was pretty tight in coverage which meant that the times there were some completions, they were perfect throws or really athletic grabs. Champ got beat a few times. Itís just going to happen because heís in his mid-thirties. The most consistently solid DB is Rahim Moore. He lines up where heís supposed to, is always in good position, he wraps up well and generally the QBís avoid him which may be why no one is talking about him. Heís been running with the oneís since OTAís but no one was mentioned him in their reports. He made some really good plays in the run game. Nacho gets challenged a lot more but he usually rises to hit. He also likes to hit hard and blow up some blocks. Nacho still makes some mistakes though. Heís definitely more explosive out of his breaks than David Bowie, though, who is just more steady. Chris Harris stayed at nickel and Kayvon Webster was the number 2 corner for most of this practice. He was really impressive. He hits hard and attacks routes. Oskie mentioned he holds sometimes but the officials werenít calling it so I guess it must not have been that bad. Overall the unit as a whole looked really good and with our receivers and our QB, I was kind of surprised. I think the large amount of run plays they had this practice probably didnít allow the passing offense to get in rhythm. Or it was just an off day.
Is that a real guy or the continuation of the misspelling people's names joke?

There were and have been and hopefully will be more.

I find Khan's to be the most informative and thorough, that's all.

I also enjoyed YOUR reports....when the two of you were in camp it was a consistent everyday report from your perspective (and Khans) that I for one miss. I love the reports that we have now mind you...but most can only go a day here and a day there (understandable)....back in the day you guys had it locked up. Good times.

I would donate to a camp fund to get you two reporting again. Unless I'm mistaken and it wasn't you then....ignore your inclusion

Lerentee McCray, C.J. Anderson are undrafted Broncos bonus babies
By MIKE KLIS The Denver Post Mike Klis

For all undrafted free agents, the odds are long they will ever play in an NFL game.

But the odds are better those who get nicer signing bonuses than others.

If you want to pick a sleeper among the 16 undrafted rookies the Broncos signed to their 90-man offseason roster, lean toward Florida linebacker Lerentee McCray and Cal running back C.J. Anderson. They were only two players who received a signing bonus greater than $7,500.

If these two guys kill it in preseason games, they will for sure make the roster. At the very least they will make the practice squad.

As the best lawyer in the Western hemisphere, SoCal cannot afford himself the time to attend camp regularly.
