The whole thing is dumb.

It being illegal is dumb.
The NFL's testing and enforcement policies are dumb.
Von potentially costing himself millions is dumb.
The Broncos knowing this situation and playing chicken with Elvis was really dumb.
All dumb.

Any truth to the rumor the suspension is from a missed test while he was on the USO Tour? Maybe that is why they are so confident he will win appeal?

Wow. I hadn't heard that being on the USO tour might have been the reason for him missing the test.

I would think that would GREATLY improve (if not outright solidify) his chances of winning the appeal (as opposed to missing it due to over sleeping).

If true.....and if the league still doesn't overturn the suspension......then the league will certainly look bad.

No way thats the situation. He could have made arrangements with the league to move his tests to different dates. Just a rumor

If that is the truth, I doubt the details surface. That would make the Ginger god look pretty bad.

I would tend to agree, but we are talking about a league that still uses fax machines for contracts.

Too soon?

This video was posted in early July, thus the video was taken in late June. Broncos and team have known for a while this was happening.

I think they only give you 24 hours notice. If you're in Afghanistan for three or four days, your cell doesn't work there. It's not inconceivable.

You'd think the NFL would know if one of their players was doing a USO tour. If this is the case, then it's really a black eye to the league.

It definitely would be, which is why I doubt it's the case.

Leaking it alone brings scrutiny from the NFLPA, if this is because Von was on his USO tour, they'll crush the NFL in the court of public opinion.

Yeah but honestly you dont think Von, Von's agent, or even someone from the team wouldnt have at least notified the league that he was going on that trip so that they could make other arrangements for the tests?

And you can't tell me if that were the case, that the NFL wouldn't have communicated to his agent or someone about this. I cannot wait for some substantiated facts, if we even see any.

Isn't the USO tour participation run by the NFL anyway?

Wouldn't you think they'd know about it?

It's 4 games, not the season. We could get by without anyone for 4 games in this division.

Who knows? Probably. But there are so many logistical things to take care of when someone is going on a trip like that, remembering that, hey, Von MAY have to piss in a cup while he's gone for three days; better tell the league about that as well.

I'm not saying it happened like that. I'm just saying it absolutely could have. **** like that falls through the cracks all the time.

We can get by without Miller for 4 games. Only issue to me is first 2 games. Can the O carry us if they are clicking sure but, can D get off the field enough for O to outscore first 2 opponents not sure?

I could care less about individual accolades as long as the wins pile up.

If they get them, great.

Agree, but could possibly cost us home field advantage in the playoffs.
