Vallos definitely has the edge over Ramirez imo based simply on experience. Honestly, I dont see Kuper/Blake/Ramirez as starting centers, even in a pinch.

TD was on NFL Network tonight, and said he called Tom Nalen for his take on Man Ram starting at center for the Broncos to begin the season.

I'm paraphrasing, but Nalen told him that it could have been a disaster but it should work itself out since he had been taking the 1st team reps all during OTA's and thus far in TC.

The line calls and continuity w/ PM is the key. He felt that the experience gained throughout OTA's and TC should be enough to carry them over until JD Walton returns.

I'm good with that. Elway may bring someone in anyway, but I think Manny can hold the fort until help arrives. Relax fellas, it'll be ok.

Apparently, the oline coach thought Ramirez was better than Koppen anyways. So we lost the backup center essentially.

By O-line coach do you mean Alex Gibbs?

Tom Nalens stamp of approval means a lot, but Gibbs approval would help me sleep at night.

No, Magazu. The guys on 104.3 were saying they talked to some guys with the team and Magazu considered and wanted Ramirez to be the starter this season.

Koppen was brought in when Walton had the setback. This sounds like they wanted Ramirez to at the very least push Walton for the starting job. Had Koppen stayed healthy I could see Ramirez beating him out for the job.

Clough (man he is painful) just said on 104.3 that he overheard Magazu telling Smyth this morning that Manny was always going to be the starter and Koppen was brought in to be the backup. Take it for what its worth but if the powers in charge feel comfortable with Manny as the starting center for now then I am no longer as worried.

Well, if nothing else changes, we'll have one of the biggest offensive lines in team history.

Orlando Franklin, RT, 6'-7" 320 lbs.
Louis Vasquez, RG, 6'-5" 335 lbs.
Manny Ramirez, C, 6'-3" 320 lbs.
Zane Beadles, LG, 6-4", 305 lbs.
Ryan Clady, LT, 6'-6", 315 lbs.

And he's been starting all of OTA's. And he was still starting after they signed Koppen.

But no matter how much you yell this, everyone and their mom is all "ZOMG! WE LOST UR STARTERRRRSSSZZZ!!!!!!"

well, i guess this is true, but i think it's more that we have manny ramirez starting in the first place. And to be fair, Manny was starting in the offseason but Koppen was a free agent and Walton was supposed to be back sooner.

The whole reason ManRam changed his number was to try and rekindle some Denver Broncos magic.

Ah well, what could have been....

On the bright side, we should be in the running for Jadeveon Clowney now.

That is a lot beef for Manning to hide behind. Lets hope they can open some serious gaps for Ball and Hillman.

Hopefully they can keep sacks to a minimum again. Especially Ramirez & Beadles, the two weakest links in the passing game.

Ball should run wild behind these monsters especially with PFM behind center and safeties playing back.

Just imagine if Gibbs can get this mountain of beef playing the ZBS effectively.
