I dont think anyone is arguing that he is not or that he will come back down to earth like Suh

I wonder what kind of player Suh would be if JDR were his coach?

For some reason, this story cracks me up:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...n-controversy/

As a soccer owner, Shad Khan has a Michael Jackson controversy

Seems like trending is so critical in contract negotiations. Take the case of Joe "What Have You Done for Me Lately" Flacco. He went from one year ago thinking he'd have to test the free agent market, to becoming the highest paid ever.

Closer to home example, Ryan Clady. A year ago coming off a down season, and questions about his value. Broncos best offer was 5/$50m, $28 guaranteed. He turned that down, kept insisting on Joe Thomas money. Bring in a classic pocket passing QB, and boom - he's trending up, 1st team All-Pro. Now it looks like he might sign before the Monday deadline ... we'll find out the numbers then, I'm thinking they'll be higher than 5/50, 28.

Derek Wolfe has remarked this offseason how he is going to enjoy not having to sit back and be the "spotter" as much. He also said he really enjoys switching positions on the line to keep the OL off guard.

the point is, what is Suh contractually worth?. I brought up Watt as a comparison; the Suh hype has settled down as his numbers have not lived up to his hype IMHO. Is he a good interior DT, sure. Is he worth upwards of $20m+ a year, that is what I was questioning.

I don't know. I never mentioned his contract worth. But if there is anyteam to think he is worth that its the raiders. I'd hate to see them actually get a good dt but if they blow almost half of their 50mil cap space next year ill be happy.

Suh is probably worth 12-14 mil per. he likely get 15-16 per.

Don't know what sort of coverage his acquisition of Fulham has received in the States but the move is surely another attempt by him to expand into Europe.

Definitely ... but only guys like you and me get that, guys who've been around some.

I remember a handful of young OKC guys posting here the week the Sonics moved. I saw Sonics jersey prices dropping fast at the mall. $29, $24, then a week later $18 ... for $90 jerseys! I told these guys, I'll send you a Kevin Durant Sonics jersey. They said "nah." I remind them the guy's signature ad was taking off each jersey as he made his way to the pros, here's a jersey he never wore, it's kinda like the Carolina blunder thing. "Nah." Finally I said, "I'll pay the tax and the shipping, I'll put an SASE in the package, just drop $18 in and mail it." "Nah."

Lions waive RB Jahvid Best
By Brian Murphy, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 4:33:23 PM CDT

Jahvid Best @J4hvidbest has not played in an NFL game since October 2011 due to issues caused by numerous concussions. Although he remained on the Lions' roster, he probably won't play again. The Lions announced Wednesday they have finally cut the former first-round pick.

"Jahvid is as fine a person and professional as I have ever worked with," Lions Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Martin Mayhew said. "He was the consummate teammate and always did everything asked of him. We wish Jahvid the very best in all his future endeavors and have no doubt that he will be successful in whatever path he chooses."

Best offered his own statement: "I want to thank the Detroit Lions organization for drafting me and giving me an opportunity to fulfill my dream and play in the National Football League. My time as a member of the Lions was a very special time in my life. My teammates, the members of the organization, the Lions fans and the people of Detroit will hold a special place in my heart. I'll always be a Lion."

I thought so. Coolest jersey I ever saw was at an Avalanche game in 96 or 97. Guy walks by in a Joe Sakic Quebec Nordiques home jersey ... bright white with the royal blue fleur de leis, beautiful.

I know where the hell NC Tar Heels are, that would be why they would put the NC on North Carolina Tar Heel colors. I see those colors I think of the Tar Heels, not the Carolina Panthers.

it's Carolina blue. most teams in NC use some form of that color as it's a pride thing for the state.

I know, that is why I'm saying that is the best excuse I could imagine for them placing the NC on that shirt instead of SC.

...the Panthers are also in NC...

The issue is they put a picture of the wrong state on the shirt.
