If you tag him next year he will count over $11 million on the cap and will impede Denver in signing their other FA. Sign him to a long term deal and his cap number next year could be around $6 million

Gary Zimmerman/Tony Jones retired. Matt Lepsis followed at a much lower performance level. You cry for an elite LT for a number of years to protect the backside of your most important player. Then you hit the jackpot in the first round crap shoot with not only a good LT but a great one. This results in you having a really good performer at a great bargain during the 3 - 4 year rookie contract. So he wants league value for his services and people start balking.

I don't understand. Are we the Colorado Rockies or the Los Angeles Dodgers. Yes the Dodgers will win the NL West going away.

As for the injury. Do the due diligence like they did with Manning then give him the money.

Ryan Clady - T - Broncos

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports there is "optimism growing" the Broncos will lock up franchise player LT Ryan Clady to a long-term deal.
One aspect of Denver's increased Clady talks not many have discussed is the fact that team doctors must be quite pleased with his recovery from serious offseason shoulder surgery. Per Garafolo, sources with knowledge of the Clady discussions say the sides are "closer than they've been" with a "gap" that still must be bridged by Monday's deadline. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported earlier Friday that Peyton Manning is optimistic his blindside protector will be locked up for the foreseeable future.

I told you.

Vic Lombardi said the two sides have agreed on the guaranteed money (33M), so that is good

ESPN reporting that Broncos offer Clady 5 year $52.5M contract with ($33M guaranteed).

Sounds about right. Get 'er done!

The same Dodgers that haven't been in the postseason since 2009?
The same Dodgers who spent out the wazoo to just be at .500 in mid July?
The thing with Clady is he didn't perform exactly stellar in 2009 and 2010. 2011 was a hit or miss year really. Plus he's had what I would consider two major surgeries already. Thats a concern.

Dodgers are going to win the west. And that's coming from a Giants fan.

I believe the QB has a little to do with how great an OL looks. You put Orton or tebow in there they aren't going to look their best no matter how HOF caliber they are. Clady is one of the best in the league and a staple of any solid Oline. I'm not going to put too much into people saying he's injury prone until after he misses his FIRST game of his career.

You're making his point, clady has had a great career with the broncos. One of the top 3 LT in the league and all of the sudden everybody wants to play GM nitpick and low ball the guy.

I think he's worth what we offered him, if he thought he was worth more than what we are offering, I'd say no.
The only thing I'm concerned about is the injuries. He didn't miss any games yet, but his play dipped for a year or two I'd say after the first injury.

Everybody's play dropped off in the McDaniels era. It was a bad time in BroncoLand.

He should take it if he thinks it reflects full market value.
