It seems that whenever Denver signs a quality free-agent that the national media goes out of their way to dismiss the impact of the signing. Last year during the Manning sweepstakes all the media (NFL Network, ESPN) fell all over themselves making claims how Manning would be a great fit in NY Jets or Miami or SF for reasons x,y,z. Then, as soon as he signed with Denver the narrative quickly turned over to 'Well, we'll see, his head might fall off his neck, and, Denver's wide receivers all suck.'
Similar stuff this year with Welker as far as his number are now going to tank...

Not as bad as it used to be, but any of the "altitude = big advantage" stuff irks me.

I hate watching games and hearing "Gasping for breath" or "Sucking in air." It always leads to some sort of snarky comment about trying that on the road.

Anything that comes out of Tony Kornheiser's mouth.

It doesn't even have to be about the Broncos.

Exactly. We've been a haven for potheads long before we passed that law.

I see that one a couple of times a day and it never fails to infuriate me. Its like they completely forget we drafted Von Miller.

I also get annoyed at the pundits that want to dismiss Thomas and Decker because they never had a break-out season with Tebow and Orton chucking them the ball. Normally the same tools that want to give Larry Fitz recent stats decline the benefit of the doubt with his QB situation.
DT's biggest problem was he couldn't stay on the field.

You obviously never had Mrs. Hall for English and had to diagra mm sentences with implied subjects- lol!

QUOTE=Swedish Extrovert;3873280]Honestly my pet peeve these days is the phasing out of verb contractions in American English.

"Feeling' good."
"Loving the Broncos season this year."
"Hard to go 13-3 with a below average football team."

^None of these are sentences.

"I'm feeling good."
"I'm loving this Broncos season."
"It's hard to go 13-3 with a below average football team."
Or even better "A below average football team wouldn't go 13-3."

^These are real sentences.

/end snob rant.[/QUOTE]

Christensen is bad, Kornheiser worse ... but Bill Maas takes the cake.

He made the two stupidest statements in color commentator history in just one game. It was a rainy Broncos-Redskins game at Invesco in I think '05 ... worst one: After a late Redskins score to close the gap, "you never know here, this is where John Elway engineered his famous The Drive to beat Cleveland."

I noticed searching for that quote that Maas has been arrested a few times over the past several years ... substance abuse and firearms. But hey, if he thought The Drive happened at Invesco, he was on drugs along.

For having a pet peeve about people who don't make whole sentences (and for being a former AP/Press Release editor), your grammar sure sucks.

It hasn't been too bad of late. Most things I hear are really positive these days. Most people are picking them as one of the top 2 or 3 favorites.

But I did see one stupid goon who said he doesn't think the Broncos will win the AFC because, and I quote, "they're one neck injury away from disaster".

As if any team who loses their starting QB isn't heading for some type of disaster. I guess this clown never bothered to read that his neck is fine. The only thing was how much feel would he regain in his arm and hand. I think he was a KF fan who writes for Bleacher Report. Friggin tool.
