I have asked before but nobody ever answers. I know there are a bunch of posters that rip on people for DUIs and have them also. Who has had a DUI that posts here?

To be fair....the question should be who has a DUI, open container, no verifiable insurance, hit two cars in two different towns with one being a marked police car.

This isn't a simple ooops DUI.

That takes a special kind of irresponsible and stupid to pull off. This guy was on the short list for GM spots around the league.

He hit a marked police car to wrap up his night. He wanted to get caught. This is merely a cry for help.

Good for you, Matt

i hope he doesn't lose his job over this. it's a horrible decision, but a man shouldn't lose his profession over a bad choice. let it go thru the courts. whatever the legal system does is fair. but losing his employment seems pointless and counterproductive.

Statements from Broncos and Russell

Posted 29 minutes ago

By DenverBroncos.com

The Denver Broncos and the club's Director of Player Personnel Matt Russell released statements Monday.

DENVER BRONCOS:

Our organization is extremely disappointed and concerned with the incident involving Matt Russell. We immediately expressed our disappointment to Matt, and he is fully aware of the seriousness of this situation. This type of behavior is unacceptable and very troubling. We expect better from all employees, particularly those in leadership positions. These allegations completely contradict the values and beliefs of the Broncos regarding social responsibility.

We are continuing to gather information and will handle this matter appropriately and in accordance with all NFL policies.

MATT RUSSELL:

I deeply regret the poor judgment I demonstrated that resulted in my arrest over the weekend. I apologize to the Denver Broncos, our fans and the National Football League for this inexcusable mistake. Im ashamed that I represented this region and the Broncos organization in the manner that I did. I take complete responsibility for my actions and will be fully accountable. Going forward, I will take steps to ensure this never happens again.

Yeah. There's a difference between Opps I had one too many beers at Hooters and the Russell scenario. I bet he'll "resign" within the week.

Dude is 2nd in command of the football team. Don't see how you can keep him in an executive role with that kind of responsibility. Next man up.

Bowlen: .....He could have just come over if he wanted to party! What was he thinking?!?!

Elway: I know. This is bad. Really bad. I mean a DUI is one thing - an accident when you're drunk is worse - but two cars in one night and one of them is a cop? I just don't know...

Bowlen's Secretary on speaker: Mr Bowlen...Peyton Manning is on line 2 demanding to speak with you.

Elway: Put him through!

Manning: Guys I just read the paper this morning. Talk about a real pain in the neck for the organization. What's the next move, fellas?

Incarcerated Bob hanging outside the window ledge: "Manning's confirms neck pain! Bad news Broncos fans!!11!1!"

Losing his job should be the least of his worries right now.

Russell appears to be so drunk that he 1.) Has an open container in his truck. 2.) Did a hit and run on a car in frisco, or was drunk enough that he didn't notice he hit a car. 3.) Hit a fully marked police car.

I think a stern warning from Pat and John, and a semi large fine to the city and he'll be A-OK. Lesson learned.

What a self-important statement. "Represented this region" like he's the Emperor of the Rocky Mountains.

Gotta think this is because of his ties to CU Football and now the Broncos.
