They weren't "not guarding him," they were crowding the lame so he couldn't beat them there.

Exactly. Spurs were ranked #28 in defense against mid range jumpers, and for good reason. They let the opposing team shoot the lowest percentage shot and cover the paint to prevent the highest percentage shot. This is what the Spurs game plan was; the heat just beat them playing their game.

Yeppers.

Pick up any chip gear Orange? I'm usually not into those gaudy ****s, but they actually do not look bad this year.

I know it's just the very start of the offseason, but I honestly don't think anyone in the East can beat the Heat.

As for the West, I think the Spurs will still be good, but will start declining. Thunder and Spurs at the top though.

Would love to see CP3 in Houston with Harden. That would just be awesome.

the Bulls and Pacers can potentially beat the Heat.
the Pacers get Granger back next year and they draft well.

the Bulls will have Rose back but have to stay healthy.

CP3 is staying with the Clips. the team called the Celts this morning and offered a future first for Doc and they're close to a deal.
Thunder,Spurs,Clippers & Nuggz if they hire Hollins should do well and contend.
the real wildcard will be the Mavs. they're ****ed if they don't get Howard.

I doubt it happens, and he should retire a Celtic.
would be perfect for the Cavs. they need a SF and a vet presence to help that young team.
then you add Alex Len at the C position and that's a very nice team for Mike Brown to shape. plus... Pierce would be retiring at about the same time as LeBron is a FA...

so the Celts get a unprotected 2015 first for Doc. not bad at all. they still waited far too long to renovate and rebuild that team. now you can't get any real value from it.

The real question with Chicago is will Rose become the same player again or will he battle that knee for the rest of his career?

I don't think that's the real question. A bigger question is whether they'll put another shot creator with him. Having guys who either were a defensive specialist or a spot up jump shooter, left Rose to do a lot of heavy lifting. Even if he was the same player, or even slightly better, he was likely going to need help.

Rose will be fine. the knee won't be an issue next year.
we need to add a legit big and a wing who can create his own shot.
the only guy who can get his own offense and not have to rely on Rose is Nate and he most likely won't be back.

if we get a big to slash Noah's minutes and use like we did Asik then that opens up a lot should Noah not continue to get hurt.
then even though Butler will be the starting 2 guard next year we still need a SG who can eventually replace Butler once he slides over to SF after Deng leaves or gets traded when his contract is up.

I'm pretty sure Blazer fans said same thing about Roy and Magic fans about Hill. I would really be worried about it if I were a Bulls fan.

Roy had a chronic and career threatening issue(his knee is damn near bone on none now and probably will need replacements when he gets older). as did Hill.
Rose's injury was about the best you could have when tearing a ACL.
Rose could have played last year(glad he did not) but sat out and continued to rehab.
if it's 20 years ago year, but a ACL tear is like a pitcher needing tommy john surgery. not a big deal unless something else is torn up.
his wasn't even as bad as RGIII's.

he was the one pushing for Rivers as coach so if he leaves it will look incredibly bad on his part. though not as bad as the decision, though it looks far less damaging with two rings on his finger.

He did the right thing by sitting out the entire season. Now will he be the same? We will see...

You cannot say Rose will be fine. We have to see him play multiple months on his repaired knee. Time will tell...

I do expect him back with somebody. A contender is a good fit for him.

It's a hypothetical. If his contract is bought out in 6 days, he can sign anywhere.

The Heat are a great option for a title run.

Sure the Pacers have the potential, but can they do it? Granger is an expiring contract to trade. The Pacers backcourt needs improvement.

Rose, well we know nothing of his status. Will he revert to MVP Rose? We shall see.

As of right now, the Heat are the favorites to win the East again.

I am looking forward to a 3peat.

great article on cbssports today about why what doc is doing wrong. Also below is his quote from just 2 YEARS AGO!

"Well, I don't think anyone's looking forward to that, but I'm willing to do that," he said. "I had a group that has been very loyal to me. I think it would have been very easy for me to just run and go somewhere else and chase something else.
"Who says that we still can't [reload] with free agency and adding the right pieces? While our Big Three are getting older, we have to add the right supporting cast to them. In that transition, hopefully we can still chase what we want. It would have been easier to do it the other way; I just don't think it's the right thing to do. Coaches talk about loyalty and team all the time. I just thought it was time to show it. And that's what I did."

Rose will be fine. Now they just need to move Deng to get a shot at Oladipo.
