Default Most important Bronco this year...Outside of PFM

Outside of PFM what player needs to be successful for Denver to win the SB?

With the way it is shaking up I believe the most important Bronco has to be Montee Ball. MaGahee is gone. Moreno is average and Hillman unproven and not really a chain mover.

I think cases can be made for DT, Welker, and Miller

Von, and it isn't close.

See the last few games of 2011 and how the D dropped off once he got hurt. And that was as a rookie. He's to the D what Manning is to the O.

After him, I'll say Clady. If he can return to playing his best football and keep Manning's blindside protected the offense will be close to unstoppable.

I think a lot of people are overlooking Hillman. Yes, Ball is the guy that has potential to be a great all around back. However, Hillman has had a full year of seasoning and while we probably can't rely on him to block exceptionally or carry it every down, he certainly has the potential to be very valuable to us. I'll cheat and say Ball and Hillman (Ballman) are both that player, but the offensive line has got to help out too. Short yardage was our Achilles heel last year and i think a lot of that comes from a week push up front.

Von - needs to lead a hungry pass rush without Elvis and disciplined in rush support
Champ - can he hang with the young guys for another year at an elite level?
DRC - can he regain his pre-Eagles form?
Clady - how does he bounce back from this injury?

(* I have Clady that low because Manning has shown he can get the ball out quick enough for downright poor LT play to be negated)

Next Bronco in importance behind Manning is Fox/Gase

If they don't stop handcuffing Manning late in games because of fear of loosing we will lose games we should have won. The most recent example of that is the last game we played.

Von on D, Demaryius Thomas on O
Thomas is a matchup nightmare and completely changes what defences gameplan each week.

Yes, DRC should be in consideration too.

Defensive collapses lead to that loss. Our offense & special teams put up 35 points.

I like this because it's true. Fox has always had the loser mentality of "what could go wrong" instead of "what could go right."

I agree, but we wouldn't have even been in that situation had not been for the defense, our secondary to be more specific, ****ting the bed in the most crucial times of the game.

14 of our points were from ST and Balt got 10 points off of turnovers including a pick six (even if it was a PI).

Both the D and O messed up.

No ****,I've already stated that ST was part of our point total. Still doesn't change anything.

Von!!!! And by a long shot!!!

How would our defense look if we lose him now that we don't have Doom?

Playing to your strength on offense is far more important than anything else you can name when it comes to what's important in a winning season. Certainly far more important than any single player after Manning.

If Shanahan had been coaching the team last season I believe it would be us hoisting the SB Trophy. It's that big of a difference IMO.

If I have to pick a player it would Monte Ball. If we have playoff games in Denver he will be as valuable as was TD was in 97 & 98

1. If Monte ball can produce like he did at Wis
2. Sly will really free up Von if he is the player we hope he is
3. The best players need to shine at $$$ time

As much as I love Von, losing Clady would be the most devastating loss imo. Von is a better overall player than Clady, but the drop off is much steeper with Clark as opposed to Phillips.

If shanahan were our coach,we lose 6 straight to end the season. I don't think our defense is as good as it is now if shanahan were the coach.

I meant putting together the game plan & calling the game only, maybe I should have said our OC.

It's clearly Von. He's the best player on the D and the key to it's success. Why would anyone suggest DRC? If he's **** and rides the bench, the broncos can roll with the exact guys they had last year and probably be fine

If I had to pick just one player, Von hands down. The rest of the D will rally behind him.
