He gets his jollies arguing with people half his age. Unfortunately, pinning me down as a waiter would be wrong. I could never do that sort of thing. Never have, never will. I sold concessions at a pool when I was a young kid in the summer time. That was as close to food service as I ever got.

Sorry to break it to you, but Texas was ruined by Texans. Never met a Texan I liked or could trust. Back-stabbing mouth breathers who aren't smart enough to get out of the way of oncoming traffic.

"Oh, golly, Texass is soooo great, I tellya wut! It's the best place on Earth, ain't no place I'd rather be, dat's why I's here in Colorado tellin' y'all all about it, I tellya wut! Mmm- shore 'nuff it is! Why, lookie here on tha front o' my car at them longhorns I put on it ta make it look like a cow or sumpthin! Tha's cuz I's frum Texass and I shore want ever'one ta know all about it, cuz I used-ta could juss holler about it an' ever'one wud unnerstand I's frum Texass but now there's more of us leavin' I mean my-gratin' no, wait, trav'lin frum the great big ol' union o' Texass so's I gots ta make myself more noticeable by, hold on, now wait just a minnit- I feel like a armadiller stuck in a back o' corn chips... what wuz we jawin' about again?"

There's no such thing as a "Californian." They all came from someplace else before they went to California and then (realizing it's not what they expected it to be) subsequently decided to move again. Go to a football game in California and you'll see the jerseys of every team in the league.

So, I lied to them about going on a mission trip and how I helped unfortunate kids in inner-cities by spreading the word of Jesus. Ended up having five different families put a crisp Jackson in my pocket.
Ha ... an honest buck ...... He said he lied to a Christian Youth Group about helping unfortunate kids in inner-cities to get a bigger tip.

I'll kiss a fat ass if that's an honest buck .....

I consider a couple hundred dollars in tips for talking Sooner football and Jesus with people for a handful of minutes a pretty good ROI, truth or not.

He earned the honest buck by serving whatever it was, he told stories to get a better tip because as a tipped employee he made 1/4 of minimum wage. I have no problem with that at all.

No, he didn't tell stories, he said he lied at that's not an honest buck any way you slice it but I will admit you are right he will work for a 1/4 of minimum wage.

That's called kissing ass. The group paid good money to hear good things about Jesus and the Sooners.

.. and more than that, the precise behavior that having tip supported employees is meant to encourage.

Man, you'd think making all that bank in tips would let you move up in the world. I mean, at least out of granny's basement. I guess cheetos and weed cost more than I remember.

Req's crowning achievement in his meaningless life was entertaining his way to a few extra bucks while servicing the people who were there to dispose of their disposable income. Then he went home to gramma's and smoked a celebratory bowl. Golf clap.

200 bucks is a lot of money. For instance, it probably buys breakfast and lunch in Vail. Might even cover my income tax for an hours' worth of work when I was his age.

I could fill up a third of my boat's gas tank with 200 bucks. Maybe a quarter of your boat's tank, Pony.
