I didn't pay too much attention to this website or publication but it's sad to see it go:

Wow.

Did not see that coming.

Im gonna miss PFT. Before the internet age, I'd always grab their write-ups in the airport and read every word several times during my flights.

RIP Sweet Princes.

Too much online information for any publications to make it. I do sort of miss waiting for the magazine to come. Back in the 80's getting Broncos news in so calif was tough. I can remember scanning the transactions during plan b FA to see if the Broncos signed anyone. You guys remember plan B free agency lol. Man seems like just yesterday!

That's too bad. When Buchsbaum was alive they were great and they also had some other terrific writers. I remember about 10 years or so ago always going there to find the monthly team report and Whispers during the offseason to post it here. They had a very respectable gig for a long time.

I'll miss it also. In the early 90's I always loved the Preseason team reviews. I would read them for all the teams. It was like the NFL fan's bible or something.

The Internet may be responsible for more business closings than Walmart & Blockbuster could do in several lifetimes. RIP to PFW. As an out of towner, PFW was literally one of the only sources I could get even a small fix of Broncos news.

Sadly, they fell victim to a changing world and how we get our news. They just couldn't/didn't change and adjust their business model to suit the times.

Man, it was just high school that I would eagerly wait the 10 o'clock news during the offseason to see if/who the Broncos have picked up.

Now I'm getting overloaded with infinite details about fax machines.

I figured something was up when they did nothing this draft season.

That blows....PFW was must read material for me growing up in the late 80's and through the mid-90s before the Internet was able to satiate my need for football news and the NFL draft.

I had a subscription for years and couldn't wait for their paper/magazine to arrive weekly during the season and then every month or so in the offseason.

Yep....I went to their site a few times right before the draft and nothing had been updated since early in March.

Tough for people to move their brands digitally. Have to do it quickly and smartly. RIP to a great source for many years.

Change happens. Bummer, but I'm grateful for the options I have to pick up daily Broncos info now.

I remember when PFW and TSN were the only two papers out of town fans could use for Broncos info. I used to wait all week to excitedly read one blurb in each of them.

I read them a lot in the 90's. In this century their work has been pretty average, honestly.

I have always appreciated their draft work, first with Buschbaum and then Nolan Nawrocki. I did not always agree with them, hell no one ever agrees on Draftees, but I appreciated their dedication to a completely independent scouting process.

Still the best independent credible source of Scouting out there, until now. They will be sorely missed for that alone.

I used to always pick up one at the airport or a magazine rack back before the Al Gore invented the internet. I liked the publication and thought they had a quality product. RIP but like all good things they usually come to an end.

PFW went the way of Newsweek, and eventually & probably- Time, among others.

There will be more to be sure. Warren Buffet has said that newspapers need to charge a subscription to read their content online. Sucks for us, but he may be right eventually.

Newspapers are going the way of the Dodo bird mainly because of the internet. If a publication's material is basically the same as what can be derived easily on other websites, then they are ****ed. But if they have unique information that is not easily obtained for free, such as ESPN Insider or Investors Business Daily's proprietary stock info, then some people will be willing to pay for it.

This is the new paradigm.

Change or get trampled.

They had ample time to get ahead of the curve. Look at CNNSI for example.

Instead of changing the platform they rode the obsolete ship to the bottom.

Happens in all walks of life.
