What a weird game. 2 goofy goals against the B's that we'll definitely never see again. B's absolutely dominate OT and then have one lapse that ends it. Oh well. Never saw them winning this series in less than 5 anyway. Rangers just delayed the inevitable.

Detroit wins again and now up 3-1 over the Presidents Trophy winning Hawks. Color me shocked. Huge achievement for Detroit and Babcock. They need 1 more....but at this point it's quite likely they will get it, as I don't see Chicago beating Howard three times in a row.

With this and bringing Sakic into the FO a month ago, looks like they're trying to go the Broncos/Elway reunion route. Hope it works. Certainly could give needed fan enthusiasm to a team that's kind of lost the interest of Denver sports fans.

How it plays out in terms of getting back to the playoffs consistently, well it seems like a gamble. Hope these guys prove to have the management chops to match their on ice legacies.

Completely stuffed up the Blackhawks. Powerplays have been almost unwatchable (if you're partisan to Chicago), but have to credit an impressive job by Detroit and Babcock.

Yes it is painful to see them not get a shot off on goal. Then they kill 30 straight PK's and give up the difference maker with one second left on the 31st.

President's cup is a kiss of death.

what pissed me off about this loss was the sloppy puck control and passing. Detroit is in their heads.

Game 2 they couldn't shoot straight and hit Iron at least 3 times.

Very sad performance.

Detroit is playing like they want it more. Props to them...Babcock has them playing out of their skulls.

The Hawks were really good the first 12 minutes or so but then Zetterberg and Kronwall got to Toews and the tide turned.

I wouldn't say really well, they were ok and had a plan that sort of worked. They looked good in the 2nd half of the 3rd but it was too late by then. Even then they had too many mishandles and bad passes.

Chicago has a lot of work to extend this series to a game 6.

changing the culture back to one of excellence and pride in winning with high expectations is obviously a part of this move.

so glad both Roy and Sakic would only agree to the jobs if ownership promised to spend money and do whatever it takes to win.

now... bring on Seth Jones!

Hopefully they go out and sign a quality vet defenseman and another scorer. Tired of seeing 3rd 4th liners on the scoring lines. David Jones, McGinn immediately come to mind. Hopefully first line of business is to send Hunwick, O'Brien and Zanon packing. Ask Stastny and Jones to take pay cuts.
