well of course! That being said, I think the coaching staff is just getting the most out of Von instead of asking him to do things that may not cater to his strengths. He's a great pass rusher so that's his specialty. He's very much in the Lawrence Taylor mode of LBer in this respect.

You have to admit Von is the best 1 down LB in the NFL!

I like how they break down 1-1 matchups but that is about it. Its hard to use stats to measure football.

For instance you tackle the ball carrier for a 4 yr gain
.
Or you destroy the ball carrier for a 5 yrd gain, but hes seeing stars.

In football we all know which tackle is worth more. Also you pick a ball off 3rd and 24 with a 21 point lead in the 4th quarter. Or you pick off the ball 3 and 2 down by 3 points. They look the same in the stat line but we all know which football players make the plays with the game on the line, and which one just pile up stats.

At least PFF trying to get those types of things measured. I ain't sayng they are giving the whole picture yet, but I actually apprecieate what they are trying to do.

That and you really believe the Broncos would be better with Peterson and that they should of drafted him. Is it really true you stalk his Twitter account and tell him Denver should of picked him over Von?

No.

Since you bring it up again though... Miller's my favorite Bronco. I did and do still love Peterson. It's hard to reconcile who I like better one wears orange and blue but it's hard to argue that we would've absolutely beaten Baltimore if we had Peterson.

I liked and still like Peterson as well. There was big holes at both positions that draft. If Peterson turned into a scrub then I can see the I told you so's. certainly I think everyone is happy Von was taken. He's my pick for defensive player of the year. But there's some of us who still like Peterson as a player too.

So you think the Broncos would be better this year with Peterson instead of Von? Even after losing Doom?

Elvis wouldn't have been released without Von. We'd have a really weak pass rush without both.

Taking absolutely nothing away from Miller, but there have been LB's before him that did what he is doing. LT revolutionized the game from a LB perspective. DT wasn't too bad at staying on the field on 3rd down and rushing the passer either. But IMO, I think it was LT who sorta made coaches think differently about what their LB's can do., granted, if they had somebody like that. I think this is gaining interest because it's been quite some time since a pure LB has rushed the passer so well. Alot of the other so called 3/4 defensive outside LB's really have been small DE's.

You can't say this at all. If Peterson was on the team, do the Broncos bring in Holliday, who scored a 2 TDs? And no, you cannot say "well Peterson would have done that too" because you simply can't know.

That draft class was amazing. It's probably the best since the Bailey/Holt draft class. We would have been good with whoever we got.

The 2011 class is for pass rushers what the 83 class was for QBs.

Peterson is great but he does not make the pure number of game-changing plays Von does.

If you ask today, I'd rather have Watt than either, so IDK why this is even a conversation

All things don't exist in a vacuum. We're talking about a game where Denver lost by 3 with no generated pass rush and surrendered 3 TDs of 59, 70 and 32 yards through the air.

I remember pre-draft having serious doubts about Von, I didn't think he would fit well for us.
He just blew past everything though and is by far just amazing to watch every week.
I mean, he can easily run past an OL for a sack. Also, he can easily bullrush one too. One of my favorite moments was the Jets game his rookie year when he absolutely humiliated the RT, pancaking him and sacking Sanchez to basically seal the game.

If there was a redraft of the 2011 I think Von still goes before PP and so does watt, aldon, and possibly Sherman.

I wanted pp in the draft too but I'm glad efx went with Von.

Put it this way. If the Broncos don't have Von Miller, they don't have Peyton Manning.
