I think it's bigger than Lewinsky and Katrina, but that's beside the point. It doesn't make me feel any better knowing that other Presidents did bad things so it's okay for the current president to do bad things.

1. To even think this is worse than Katrina or lewinski is laughable.
2. Where is all this evidence that Obama is doing bad things/tied to all this.
You have a nice conspiracy theory but nothing more.

Quote:
The conservative news website The Daily Caller has accused President Obama of violating Marine Corps regulations when he had a pair of Marines hold umbrellas above himself and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at an outdoor press conference on Thursday.

From The Daily Caller's report:

According to Marine Corps regulation MCO P1020.34F of the Marine Corps Uniform Regulations chapter 3, a male Marine is not allowed to carry an umbrella while in uniform. There is no provision in the Marine Corps uniform regulation guidelines that allows a male Marine to carry an umbrella.
apparently this is the next scandal, we can say with some certainty that Obama will get impeached..umbrellas??!...the outrage!

I don't even know why this keeps being brought up as equivalent, it was a consensual act between two adults. The irony of republicans always complaining of government intrusion into peoples lives (what public interest in who the presidents fücks is there?) only belies their hypocrisy and duplicity of wanting to control and punish peoples for their sex lives while simultaneously allowing corporations free rein and immunity on everything else.

It's general irony, yes...but also very specific irony, as in the case of Mark Sanford. You know, the guy who voted for Clinton's impeachment.

If you want irony you should read John Edwards' impeachment speech sometime.

Peacepipe brought it up as being worse. I don't think consensual sex is worse than spying. It actually improved Clinton's rating.

I did not want to believe this -- but when I checked -- it's true enough.

Of course, the affair with Monika overshadowed the really important event of 1998. You have to wonder to what extent this was orchestrated.

The important event being Desert Fox -- the Dec 1998 US bombing of Iraq -- a heavy handed attempt to effect regime change by offing Saddam.

The US ordered the UNSCOM weapons inspectors to leave the country (it was NOT Saddam who did so -- though this continues to be the common lie agreed upon.)

The bombing failed.

As a result, UNSCOM chief weapons inspector Scott Ritter resigned in protest -- as did Dennis Halliday -- the other UN official in Iraq at that time.

All in all - it was an unmitigated disaster for the US, the people of Iraq, and the world.

Meanwhile, the US headlines were all about Monika and Bill.

What improved Clinton rating was Republicans overreached with the impeachment.

Even Nixon's counsel says the comparison is ridiculous.
Ironically, Bob Woodward says otherwise.....

Some Americans expect their president to have higher morals and character.....

Personally I don't give a **** that he ****ed or blew a load on Lewinski.....I'm just pissed he did it on the taxpayer's dime....and surely the leader of the free world could score a hot super model or actress, etc.......hell anyone of us could have nailed Lewinsky.

Woodward is a whiny attention seeking hack. Woodward not too long ago got called out for fabricating a bogus story about being intimidated by the white house.

In the grand scheme of things what the hell does that matter. What you want to do back charge him the time?

The fact that was even a story just shows how naive and malleable public opinion is. Is it any wonder we find ourselves in the position we are in.

Victims of our own mundaneness.

My word you are one of the most thorough administration slob knobbers. Is anyone who ever criticizes your man a liar by definition?

We know people in Obamas admin knew. Its logical he may have knew also. Thats why an outside special investigation has to be formed. Lets get to the bottom of this horrid display of govt abuse.

Don't forget, like Daniel Ellsberg pointed out, all the crimes committed by Richard Nixon would have been legal under the Patriot Act.

Holder said to Congress i didn't ave anything to do with the prosecution of anyone in the media. So because he didn't say investigation he is off the hook for lying. Politicians use excuses like kids to with parents. \

No dad you asked if me and my friends went to the mall after school. I said no. I went with 2 kids I don't consider my friends so I wasn't lying. He lied, Obama lies, the repubs all lie, the whole govt ****ing lies to us. Until we have a mechanism for holding them sccountable they will keep lying to us.

We as a society have come to expect to be lied to. In fact if if we run into someone that is morally bound to speak his truth he is considered naive and even a little slow and idealistic.

A clever lier is admired and modeled as a figure on success on reality shows.
