The President's press representative outright lied, not only about what happened in Benghazi, but also how the fictional response came to exist. Why is that?
Binary thinker. And I employ the latter term advisedly.

MY White House??

Seriously, can't some of you look at facts without turning it into a partisan pissing contest??

What happened in Benghazi......and other Embassies over the years... should be a national issue of concern, not about partisan politics.

I really didn't mean it how you took it. I mostly meant it as a play on our resident ChefsBob. I can see why you read it that way though.

If you want to see some lying press reps, go back and watch tapes of Bushes. Man! What a bunch of liars. Especially Ari Fleischer. But then, there was Scott Mclellan. He was an accomplished liar too. Tony Snow? Dana Perino? They were all pretty good.

Listen to the NPR tape. Maybe you'll get a more than binary idea of the issue.
(BTW, I know you won't. Just saying it for laughs.)

Dick 'shoot your friend in the face' Cheney states that benghazi is one of the worst incidents that he can recall. Which one is worse Dick?

Cheney apparently doesn't recall much.

So why do go out of your way to defend the lying? Does the R next to a politician's name make his lies worse to you? Does the D next to the politician's name make you ignore the fact that he's lying?

You need to realize that the guys who went to the compound to try and save the ambassador had no idea they were getting ****ed in the ass by the current administration....they were hung out to die.

US administrations -- both R and D -- have been hanging honest men out to die since as far back as I can remember (i.e., since the 1960s)

This is nothing new.

What I don't get is the partisan bickering. You guys behave like there was no CIA dirty tricks under EVERY administration after Truman...

as if Iran Contra never happened...

as if 9/11 were ancient history (it ain't).

Lying in politics is only newsworthy when republicans do it since they are the ones that are considered to have high morals and character. So when a republican does something shady, the liberals and democrats can say "see, they are no better than us" which essentially is admitting they are the ones with little morals or character. But when one sees what democrats and liberals do, one can see how true it is for most.

In the month before attackers stormed U.S. facilities in Benghazi and killed four Americans, U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens twice turned down offers of security assistance made by the senior U.S. military official in the region in response to concerns that Stevens had raised in a still secret memorandum, two government officials told McClatchy.

That is because most everyone is not paying attention and Americans are uneducated and apathetic when it comes to civics. Nice try to spin this into a NWO conspiracy thread.

The more this issue gets talked about, the more it will turn out to be nothing more then a tragedy that was politicized by the right.

The key takeaway here, once again, is that we don't know the whole story.

My god, Charles freaking Krauthammer has more sense than most of you:

Quote:
[T]he one advice I give to Republicans is stop calling [Benghazi] a huge scandal. Stop saying itís a Watergate. Stop saying itís Iran Contra. Let the facts speak for themselves. Have a special committee, a select committee. The facts will speak for themselves. Pile them on but donít exaggerate, donít run ads about Hillary. It feeds the narrative for the other side that itís only a political event. Itís not. Just be quiet and present the facts.

Although I do think it's something of a "political event"...

Your takeaway I guess is that he deserved to die because he wouldn't go insubordinate and work outside his chain of command?

Wait a minute, I said those exact same words and I was called a partisan shill.

Let's get the pitchforks and torches out for Krauthammer, conservatives! I'll lead the charge!

The politics are obvious, but now the IRS and AP stories have become the new 'shiny objects'....both of which should be dealt with as 'national issues' not more partisan bs.
