Relax. I was half joking. I don't believe I've ever once before made a crack about Champ's age.

I posted that to see how many hyper-sensitive types would respond......

Totally man. Probably play some special teams too.

No. Charles Woodson will never be "depth".

I always ask what does he have left considering he's been on the shelf for 2 months and no-one's even had a sniff yet.

$

Vets like him and Urlacher can still play, but clubs would rather go younger and long term for literally 10% of their price.

Unfortunately for the viewer, the product isn't quite as good, and with the younger guys you have a tendency for more off the field issues.

A few years ago? Hell ya. Today? Ill pass. Teams targeted Woodson all last year(in games he was actually healthy enough to play) which resulted in him getting abused. Was among the worst in ratio of snaps to targets. Was in the bottom 10 in yards allowed per snaps in coverage and snaps per reception allowed. We already got that in Moore and Adams. They allow too many completed passes too.

When SF thinks a rookie is a better option than Woodson that should be a sign. Maybe they didnt want to spend money, or maybe they realize his skills are dropping and teams knew that last year by attacking him.

If you bring in Rhodes, your giving up on Moore..that's the reality of the situation..

Woodson could play either safety spot, and match-up against TEs in the big Nickel.. But his signing would cost someone a spot, potentially Tony Carter.

I wouldn't bring him in. We've made some solid changes in FA and the draft to help our #2 ranked defense. The defense had a really bad game in the playoffs. It happens. Sucks but it happens. I don't think you want to over tweak a defense that was pretty solid last year. I like the additions we made at CB and NT and DE.

We tweaked the defense enough already IMO.

If anything this means they can cut Carter and give a draft pick a chance to make the team in Carter's place. I believe that Woodson would not have been out of position on the last Ravens TD or may have even been in place to stop one of the other 2 long TD's. Moore totally under estimated Flacco's arm that entire game.

What if Woodson was playing last year against the Ravens instead of Moore?

no one named Carter should be cut from the rooster at this point imo. Woodson for Adams makes the most sense unless a DB is traded, placed on IR or PUP. I know Adams was awarded a rooster bonus earlier in the year, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to roster him and C Wood

This is what IAOFM has been pushing for several weeks.

Note their comment that cutting Adams would save $2 million. But, we already have a crunch at the DB position and this would just add to it...

I would rather have Woodson than Adams and he could easily fill the role that Leonhard had on the teams, including call fair catches on punt returns.

Should we sign Charles Woodson? Short answer, yes. Long answer YEESSS!

John Lynch was 33 when he came over ... lasted 4 solid seasons
Brian Dawkins was 36 when he signed ... lasted 3 seasons, first 2 solid
Charles Woodson is 36 now, and a better athlete than either ... named AP All-Pro 2008 thru 2011

Brian Urlacher? Long and short answers both NO.

I think the average college players could've made that play. I don't doubt Moore shouldn't be on the field, just don't think a 37 yr old who was targeted by offenses last year to be the answer. Who's to say he would even last that long to play in a playoff game. After that collarbone injury he wasn't the same last year. We saw Dawkins on the sidelines during the playoffs too.

I would've drafted one. But the FO keeps telling us there's nothing wrong at safety and they are 100% confident in what we have. At least that's what they've told the fans.

Maybe spoke too soon ... did some reading, and apparently several teams have already passed on him, and he's never actually played safety. He does own a wine vineyard and bottling company, though.

Charles Woodson is from NW Ohio (where I'm from) and is a Michigan man, so it would be titties to see him sign with Denver and win a few Super Bowls.

I'd welcome his leadership and playmaking ability if the price was right.
