no idea, but he looks like he has the physical tools and looks like a better press man CB than zone corner. Looks like he's a physical guy. I'm liking this and the Ball pick more and more than when they made the picks.

CBS had him rated 225! Elway is tearing this team APART.! A third round pick for a developmental corner / ST gunner who runs a sub 4.5 40 and hits. We're not so good that we can afford to WASTE THIRD ROUND PICKS like this!

Yes Elway is tearing this team apart. I mean, he's only taken us from a loser to the best team in the league (not counting the referees on the ravens roster) in 2 years.

Maybe Kayvon works out and becomes a starter. Then it doesn't matter if the pick was a reach. Right now, a bunch of "so called experts" are saying there were much better players still on the board.
Yeah but I bet when those guys made picks lots of other experts where saying there were better players on the board. Just how it is.

That's the other part of it. Do people really expect that fans are not going to b**** and moan about their favorite teams? Isn't that part of what being a fan is all about? Would the OM even exist otherwise?

Really? We're talking about a "reach" in the 3rd round people. It's not like a huge reach in the 1st or something. Alot of "experts" that said better players were on the board will tell you in the very next sentence that in the 3rd round and lower, if you see a guy you really like, go and get him.

According to the majority of value boards this pick is a reach, but you're right. If a team is fired up about the prospects of some player in the bottom rungs, go for it. Sometimes the gambles can really pay off.

Ya like Shanny taking Maurice Clarrett. He went against every draft expert and took Maurice in the third and well the rest is history.

Lots of fast guys can't play. This is still the same guy that wasn't on a lot of team's boards. It will be interesting to see if the Broncos' scouting department is really that good.

I could care less if he was on other teams boards.
I simply care about what our team thinks about him and how they develop him.

he has the skills to be a player in this league. and most fast guys who can't play aren't physical, which is partially why they can't play.
they can rip in a straight line but can't handle being physically handled.

I like Webster alot better than Middlebrooks or Smith, both CBs taken in exchange for a 1st rounder by the broncos. So its not such a bad deal for a 3rd rounder. Plus Camp seems to have taken him under his wing.

Middlebrooks was a serious reach, Smith looked twice as good as Webster coming out. I was not that high on Smith because Wake Forest DB's have never translated their games to the NFL, but he looked a lot better on tape than Webster who faced much less competition at USF.

Webster was the 15th CB selected in a very deep draft, if they hit with him its as much luck as skill, because their top CB choices were already gone when they selected this Kid. He was the best of the rest, and by all indications he would have been there 2 more rounds and they could have traded back if their was not a serious run on CB's before they picked.

Overall, I hope they hit with this Kid but he is NOT the missing link for this secondary. That is unless they move him to safety in TC. Still have a vote of no confidence in our secondary at this point in TC.

How are people feeling now about this pick?

He has played some significant snaps already.

Yeah... but largely due to Tony Carter (and of course Champ) being hurt.

That being said, he's been largely terrific and really blown away my initial expectations. He's even more physical than his write-ups (which drew some BS personal fouls in the PS). I feel like I have a really, really good track record for college DBs and this is a guy I'm ready to admit I whiffed on and didn't see coming.

Whether or not he can play in this league consistently remains to be seen, but I'm pretty confident

I thought he played great. He's physical and decisive. I tend to trust this coaching staff when it comes to defensive players. Even ones that don't look so hot get coached up into pretty solid players. It makes excited for guys like Q and McCray.
