It's funny, when I was watching Ball's hightlight video I was thinking about how I did the same when we drafted Moreno and he looked great. There are some similarities. But Ball appears to have quite a bit more burst, although like Moreno doesn't look terribly fast.

Yup, I'm hoping Moreno stays. I'm thinking McGahee and Ball are gone.

Yup, in his highlight videos he rarely gets touched until tackled. Apparently Wiscy had a very big, and very good, O-line.

We've also retained 3-4 UDFA's and I'm really looking forward to that after the draft. We need to fill about 20 roster spots.
Excellant prospective as usual Eddie.

Are you saying you want to Lance a Ball?

If they would take the time to watch his high light video they would be reminded of our own TD. I love this pick and it will be called the steal of the draft in the coming years IMO.

Me neither! Ball is bigger and alot of physical and productive coming out of college! I think he's faster because he did run a 4.5 at his pro day.

It's his vision that makes him different that Moreno. If KM had Ball's vision and decision making ability we would not have needed to draft a RB.

I'll say this about him…the dude is productive…running the ball and catching out of the backfield. He played on a Wisconsin team that ran with 2-3 TE's and defenses that stacked the box to stop him.

His production speaks for itself.

Seeing Ball play in college makes me think of Fred Jackson of the Bills over the last few years as his best comp. Jackson took a while to bulk up (he only weighed 195 coming out of college) and making the jump to NFL game speed (he played D-III ball in college) but since making those jumps he's been a solid all around RB who grinds teams down and keeps the ball moving down the field. Montee Ball is, to me, an already physically matured Jackson with a lot more NFL readiness thanks to superior college competition.

I am warming up to it. Really wanted Bell but will be happy with Ball. I just would love it if he packed on 10 lbs of muscle and played at right around 220-225lbs.

I like the part where he scores touchdowns and never fumbles

This pick signals McGahee is gone

I think we roll with Ball as the starter with Hillman splitting carries
Moreno will prolly get some scraps and Lance Ball will be on the 53 man roster, but not on the active game day roster barring an injury

Who give a **** if the Broncos have 15/16 drafted players?

Elway has been here two years. Most all the draft picks should be on the team. The more important number that outside a few key players, none of them start. Only one guy out of everyone we drafted last year started ONE game. That is ****ing pathetic.

Ball is nothing like knowshon.

Corey dillon and Steven Ridley are closer comparisons.

The back I would say he resembles most is Fred Taylor. He might not be as fast as Taylor but he runs very similarly and IMO is a bit stronger.

not pathetic and all when you look at what they were doing with last year's draft. consider one of the high picks was never meant to see the field for 3-5 years and the 3rd rounder is a midround COP RB. Are you seriously disappointed Denver didn't get a day one starter from day 3 of last year's draft? The day 3 LB they took last year worked his way into a prominent subpackage role on d. Broncos did fine last year, and the year before they got a potential HOF pass rusher, a solid starting OT, and 2 guys who started at safety over the 1st 2 years. Elway and co. are doing fine. Denver got 2 immediate starters/impact players already in this draft and the more I see from Webster the more I think he's going to be a solid role player at worst. And he netted us Peyton Manning, etal. Buck up, little camper.

Way too early to judge that. Osweiler's true test will come after Manning and if he turns out to be a decent starter then already that makes the 2012 draft with Wolfe a great one. Bolden and Blake might may well end up starting while in the '11 draft Irving and Carter have a good chance of starting this year.

I think it's great that the FO has enough quality starters that we can afford to let guys like Blake, Bolden, Osweiler etc develop and get better instead of making their mistakes on the field.

This was posted in another thread. But dude ran a 4.46 at pro day.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2013/sto...adgers-pro-day

My only concern is wear & tear, but then again you never know how long a RB can last (could be 3-5 years or could be Emmit Smith)

He's also the same size that TD was and his strengths are vision and feet like TD.

I think this guy surprises the hell out of everyone and is the best back coming out this year.

We only need 3-5 years IMO. I would think ALL RB's have a 3-5 year shelf life. It seems like after 3-5 they're either really expensive (and not worth paying) or breaking down (and not worth keeping).
