That's a nice draft -- Tretter is gonna be a stud, and I really like Manuel and McFadden as well.

Thanks! Ya had Kruger been picked up before the draft started the 1st pick would've been a different direction. Happy with tretter sims and Williams on the back end though. Pretty tough picking for what the browns need compared to what I wanted that was on the board though!

Cardinals draft results:

1-07 (07): Arizona (TheReverend)- Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
-Team solidifies the OL by nabbing one of the best T prospects in a long time. I call him "White Clady"
2-06 (38): Arizona (TheReverend)- Matt Barkley, QB, USC
-Team lands QBOTF by landing a high first round QB at the start of the second. The Carson Palmer trade kinda screwed this by probably close to a full round of value though, but kinda self-imposed after a good but far from great pro day :/
3-07 (69): Arizona (TheReverend)- Robert Alford, CB, SELU
-Between Peterson, Cason and Fleming, this creates the best and deepest young group of CBs in the league.
4-06 (103): Arizona (TheReverend)- David Bakhtiari, OT, Colorado
-Kick into guard and can immediately plug in as a starter with his skillset
5-07 (140): Arizona (TheReverend)- Jordan Hill, DT, Penn State
-Good rotational player behind Campbell and Dockett with a ton of upside
6-06 (174): Arizona (TheReverend)- Chris Gragg, TE, Arkansas
-Great measurables and a ton of upside. Drafted to help Barkley develop, his floor is as a special teams asset.
6-08 (176): Arizona (TheReverend)- T.J. Barnes, DT, Georgia Tech
-Great measurables and a ton of upside. Can rotate with Dan Williams, but may take time to develop. First year PS candidate.

UDFA Class:

Tyrone Goard, WR, Eastern Kentucky
-6'4, over 200 lbs and 4.4 straight line speed. Excellent prospect to develop behind Fitzgerald, Roberts and Floyd.
Matt Furstenburg, TE, Maryland
-Top performer at the TE position at vert, 40, and both shuttles, combined with a killer showing in positional drills at the combine. UDFA steal.
Braden Brown, OT, BYU
-Extremely athletic combined with ideal size. I think he's a VERY intriguing prospect to make the switch to LG.
Tanner Hawkinson, OT, Kansas
-Development potential. Former TE. More of a technician and cerebral player... needs to have bending coached out of him and improve hip flexibility. At worst, a solid PS addition.
Jason Weaver, OT, Southern Mississippi
-Big and strong with loads of potential. 2nd team All-Conference in Conference USA... yeah, yeah, but it was coming off a pretty significant injury, so it's more impressive than it sounds. Excited about him.

Welp... that really completes my "boom or bust" draft class of 2013. If 1/5th of them live up to their potential, it should be a great haul. I'm really excited to look back at this one in 2-3 years.

Between the OL additions, the return of Levi, as well as expectations for Potter and Massie, protection and running the football are certainly issues of the past (barring injury).

Barkley can sit behind another USC QB, the secondary is beyond stacked, solid TEs have been added to work the underneath behind an excellent WR corps and the best 5 tech combo in the game has some talented rotational depth, and Dan Williams has competition and rotation at the nose.

Time to run out and sign a LB and S from the FA market.

OK, 29 rookies is probably a bit excessive -- that being said, the Pittsburgh Steelers roster is actually in shambles right now, and I could definitely see them bringing in a larger-than-normal crop of fresh blood this year.... 61 vets and 29 rookies on the 90-man training camp roster doesn't seem completely unrealistic....

DJ Hayden is now Mike Maylocks #1 rated CB. Looks like I might have the steal of the draft.

I would have taken Fauria in the 7th, and you put in a higher bid than me on Spadola in the UDFA round -- love both of those players where you got them.

I honestly can't make up my mind about Da'Rick Rogers.... I can definitely see the talent there, but with so many good wide receivers in this draft, why go for the guy with character issues?

Given how "boom or bust" your first few choices are, your draft could be epically successful or Al Davis terrible. Should be fun for you to track your rookies this year, at the very least.

yeah, in hindsight I would have taken Marshall WR Dobson over Rogers in the 3rd.Definitely a boom or bust draft, but I was glad to get Spadola and Cierre Wood in the UDFA portion. White could fit as depth at NT for Pettine's new-look D. Thanks JCM, BowlenBall, and everyone else for running this.

Total on the roster: 79

Well, I didn't quite make it to 90 players with San Diego's current roster. I need some camp bodies to take the wear and strain off the 1's and 2's, and also sign a couple of vets to make this 7-9 team a playoff team. I was also not able to address the DT needs for the Chargers as I was filling in a lot of other holes on the O-line and at DB. So, I need 11 more bodies. I am way to into this process this year, but I think I would fill out the rest of the roster like this:

QB's:
UDFA Alex Carder, WMU -- had some prolific yardage seasons at WMU
FA Trent Edwards -- Veteran presence to push Whitehurst

It's always a good idea to have extra arms in camp.

Tight ends
UDFA Philip Lutzenkirchen, Auburn -- Has some potential to be a well rounded TE. He was injured a good portion of the 2012 season. Let's see what's in the tank.
FA Dallas Clark playing across from gates in some 2 TE sets might be nice for Clark

Running Back
UDFA Chris Thompson, FSU -- A darren Sproles type back with a lot of speed. Bad injury derailed his 2012. He could at least be a gunner on ST. If he is healthy could be a contributor.

Defensive End
FA Lawrence Jackson, Detroit Lions -- I watched a lot of Lions football and he made a couple of impactful plays per game. Good rotational guy, has the size (271 lbs) to play the 3-4 DE, and shouldn't be too pricey.

Defensive Tackle
UDFA Darius Smith, NT, Miami -- Arriving at Miami as a highly-coveted JUCO recruit, Smith never quite made the impact most expected, but only so many human beings on the planet are built like him (335 lbs). - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
FA Richard Seymour -- The Bolts could use him as a rotational guy, not wear him out. Also, the Chargers NEED another experienced DT on the roster as Cam Thomas is currently the only one.

Linebackers
FA Nick Barnett, Buffalo -- Solid contributor. Kevin Durant from the Lions could also play inside or outside for the Bolts if the Chargers don't sign.......
FA Brian Urlacher, Bears -- Let him wind down his hall of fame career in the sunshine. The Bolts need a presence on this D, he would provide it. If he has nothing left in the tank or is too expensive, Bradie James from the Texans would also be a fit.

Safety
FA Corey Lynch, Chargers -- My only re-signing, a nice special teams player. Also, Tanard Jackson comes off of suspension on August 31st and could start alongside Weedle.

OK, that's 90. I think the FA signed here won't break the bank, and this has some potential to give the Chargers a solid roster with some upside for the future.

Looks good to me JCMElway. You crushed the draft and did well in Free Agency. Roster looks much improved. Free Agents are mostly conceivable.

I'm going to have to do this with the Bengals now.

I know that Urlacher AND Seymour are a stretch, but if the Chargers are going to put a playoff run together, they need some emotional and performance impact. Those are two guys who can provide both.

I look forward to your roster analysis. I would like to see Bowlenball and goham/schaaf, and Dbroncos4life do this type of analysis as well.

It will be fun to do, will knock it out by Monday.

I put up some fun statistics in the Mike Mayock thread I made in connection between his draft values and our mock game. Pretty interesting to see whom he would have thought drafted well and drafted poorly.

I'll do the same kind of thing with the real draft. Maybe we can even have a theoretical winner.

I had quite a few draft picks and got a lot of my UDFA targets, so I was right up against my 90 man roster limit. I needed to pick up another DT for camp, so I signed Brian Arnfelt from Northwestern. I also signed a camp leg at kicker.

I feel pretty strongly about the overall roster.

The defensive line is one the best and deepest in football. Requiem and I overhauled the LB position where Gooden will start at WILL, Burfict will move to MIKE, and Ogletree will start at SAM. That's a pretty athletic outside LB duo that excels in coverage and should match up well against TEs. CB was already deep and talented. I like the guys we got through to the Practice Squad to develop. Strong Safety received some attention and should be much improved.

On the offensive line, I'm assuming Andre Smith re-signs, which both party say is what they want to happen. If not, Dennis Roland will make the roster and start. Roger Gaines offers great long term potential but will be a game day inactive this season while he learns. The interior O-line was already rock solid. The team only carries two TEs because we often use a FB. That position won't change from last year. The Wide Receivers get a boost with Hopkins becoming the #2, which gives us great depth behind him. Running Back got a major overhaul as BJGE remains starting, but will split carries with Bernard. Peerman and James will be the backups offering a lot of versatility. This is a much better backfield than last season. At QB, all remains the same, though the team is happy to develop Cameron the Practice Squad. Overall, the Bengals appear to be much improved and a deep run into the Playoffs is the expectation.

Texans are looking pretty good after day one...

Datone Jones picked at #27 goes to #26 Packers.

Kyle Long picked at #57 and ends up at #20 for the Bears.

Looking forward to tomorrow, hoping to get as many players in the top 100 as possible.

As are the Chiefs, Joeckel and Fisher could have easily been swapped, but Richardson was the first DT taken and to a 3-4 team. Where are all the guys that said he'd go to a 4-3?

Tyler Eifert selected #21 - got him at 23 after a trade up. Bengals really surprised me with that one, but you cannot beat the value of a stud TE and beefing up those receiving corps.

Philadelphia did a pretty good job so far in our mock. I landed Dion Jordan. Miami traded up ahead of Philadelphia in RL.

I got Elam in the 2nd round. He didn't quite make it there in RL. Some of the Iggles fans were calling him Baby Dawk.
