I sent 25 players to Bowlen originally, and only got 10 players and missed out on 5.. Which leaves about 10 unclaimed that I bid for..

You couldn't have sent 25 considering the minimum bid was $5k and your max spend was $100k

That is correct. Which is why I had to resend them with changed values.

So you're one of the "Draft Geek 7"? Sweet.

Lots of good new participants this year (you and MUG, off the top of my head) -- nice to have some people who are passionate about it!

Whatever money you did not spend out of the 100k in the first round you can use on players in this next round.

I couldn't locate Kamel Ishmael anywhere when searching the first round of UDFAs.. That's a great add on MUG!

And can I just announce the names of the guys I liked who still weren't picked up in UDFA and we pretend I bid for them.

Absolutely -- at this point, just post whoever you want as a street free agent, then add them to your "bragging rights list". The whole point is to be the one person who can evaluate talent and discover that 'diamond in the rough' better than everyone else, right?

I think the way these continued UDFA rounds is to pray and spray and has little to nothing to do with evaluating talent now.

The Broncos sent a contingent to the East-West Shrine game on January 19th to scout prospects for the 2013 NFL Draft. They interviewed two players there and we are going to find out about one of them. Let me introduce you to Chad Bumphis, a Wide Receiver out of Mississippi State.

Chad Bumphis is a 5’10", 202 lb. Senior who runs a 4.46 pre-Combine 40 yard dash. He Lettered 4 times for the Bulldogs, playing 50 games and catching 159 passes for 2,270 yards and 24 Touchdowns. He is currently ranked 400 overall in the CBS Draft prospect rankings and #46 out of all Wide Receiver hopefuls.

Chad had his best season in 2012, catching 58 passes for 922 yards and an SEC-best 12 Touchdowns. As if that weren’t enough to impress the Bronco scouts, he also had a terrific day during the Shrine game, catching four passes for 92 yards, including a 57-yard Touchdown grab. Bumphis shared the MVP honors with Nigel Malone as the West team defeated the East 28-13. Of his MVP performance, Chad had this to say;

"People said I made a little money yesterday."

Maybe even enough to move him to a middle round projection.

Bumphis led the Bulldogs in Receiving 3 of the 4 seasons he attended Mississippi State. He also returned 24 Kickoffs for a 21.9 yard average and 35 Punts for a 10 yard average and one Touchdown. His College Bio calls him "the primary playmaker for the Bulldogs since his freshman term."

I agree a little bit.

We'll have to figure out a better way to do the UDFA round next year. I think the goal should be each team getting between 5 and 10 UDFAs. Probably need to raise the lowest bidding number to 10k instead of 5k. And then conduct the Free Agency bidding round as we did this year with the higher floor value.

After that's completed and listed though, I do think all teams should be able to use any remaining funds on remaining UDFAs. I'd put every remaining player's value at 10k, but I'd probably let it be First Come, First Serve, so we don't have an infinite number of free agent rounds. And by FCFS, I mean after the results of the UDFA are posted, whomever gets in the thread and posts the player for 10k first, gets him. No edits, and it will be time stamped, so nobody should need to hassle with overseeing it.

Doing this, the guys that hunt deep sleepers should be able to get 10 of them. The guys that want to blow their load on the best remaining talent, should get 3-5.

Those numbers seem a little better to me, especially if we can get full participation. That should be another 200-320 guys that will get picked up in UDFA.

Here's the point you're missing... if your evaluation skills were so good regarding Worrilow, you would've picked him up earlier. When it meant something.

But you didn't think enough of him when it cost a draft pick, and you didn't think enough of him in the first UDFA round when you spent your supplied money.

You did, on the other hand, think enough of him to use money you already spent in the initial round and lost on (which eliminates a large portion of the consequence of not bidding enough) on this guy.

Again, this is ****ing stupid. Brb submitting a cut and paste of prospects #300-500 and then claiming it's because I'm "hardcore".
