The fluff for the draft begins

Actually, agree wholeheartedly outside the OL available in this draft. There are five Elite OL, but no other Elite players at the top of this draft IMHO, so I totally agree with this statement.

I agree too. I also think if you rank the top 5 at every position....whether you get 1 or 5, they're pretty even in terms of talent...maybe different, but equal talents.

That's why...I'd trade back again this year and pick up an extra 3rd or 4th round pick.

Stay at 28: Take Lacy or Werner or Olgletree or Trufant or Rhodes

Move to 40: Take Ball or Carradine or Moore or Teo or Taylor or Hayden or best DT

If you ask me you are getting equal talent at better value.

Lacy tapped out of his own private workout. No thanks at #28

Totally agree!
There is a fine very athletic safety though, who might become something special, if he's given a BRAIN injection and put with a good coach.

In this particular draft I'd agree with his statement. You have some decent interior-line prospects, a couple of decent LT prospects and some quality 4-3 DT's. There is enough depth at all of these positions in this draft to find guys in the teens to late 20's. Not a guy that you want to go ape**** over with a top 5 pick though.

If you're picking in the top 10, you need a franchise QB. There isn't one worthy of taking top 10.

Floyd will be good, but top 5 good?

If you're looking for a top flight CB, there's only one, and although I think he'll be an above average starter, I don't think Milner has a Champ, Woodson, or even Patrick Peterson type ceiling.

If you're looking for a big, physical, freak-like WR (Calvin Johnson type), there isn't one.
If you're looking for a big, physical, freak, RB (AP type), there isn't one.

It's just not a good draft to suck and pick in the top 5.

I like Kenny Vacarro, but top 5 on a SS?

Disagree with that assessment, unless someone slides 10+ slots. I think there's a good 15-20 players that are on a higher tier than 28.

I DO think picking 29-50 is as good as 28, on the other hand.

i agree, this draft is loaded in terms of depth but the differences between the players from the top 10 on down are similar. unless you're going for one of the OG's or one of the two top DT's there isn't much of a difference.

i mean hell, there is barely a QB people want to take in the top 10. that's telling in and of itself.

This draft has alot of quality WRs. Very deep WR draft. Denver needs to draft one 3rd or 4th round

If Denver could somehow come out of this draft with Vaccaro I would be thrilled. He's my #1 trade up prospect but not at the cost of a 2nd. 3rd round yes. Kenny probably wont make it to the 20's but if he did STL would be a nice trading partner at #22

FWIIW, Mike Mayock agrees with Elway.

This could be the year for the late-pick gem.
"If you're a playoff team, you're laughing because there is so much depth to this thing that if you're drafting 20 to 30, it's not a whole lot different than the fifth or sixth pick," NFL Network draft guru Mike Mayock said.

I think if we could manage 3 2nd rounders, or near 2nd rounders, we could really round this team out with RB, MLB, and DE/CB/Safety.

if we can land 3 2nds this season and draft as well as we have the past two years under Elway we will be primed for a 6-7 year run.

i wouldnt be surprised if we traded back at all....I see a very boring draft overall for us as far as lack of hollywood position players. D-line, LB, OL, and RB late will be the route im expecting.

I, along with others, have said in another thread, that the FO may very well play it like last year. If a small handful of players don't drop to #28, then they will be happy to drop back and get more picks.

This appears to be the kind of draft that that strategy would be warranted. At the very least, Elway seems to suggest that he will not be trading up this year.

No doubt I'm expecting a move down if anything. Convince me 13 draft isn't one of the worst drafts in 2000's
