Unless they replace Dumervil's talent, they are screwed at RDE. Ayers is not the answer.

The Broncos got a lot worse on Defense with the loss of Dumervil, on top of the problems they already had last year (inability to guard TE's, weak LB play, aging Bailey, etc.).

Excited to see how the draft shakes out.

Typical Price overreaction post. I'm surprised the world still turns since Doom was shown the door. Might as well just cancel the season.

Obviously pricejj has some Doom jerseys sitting in his closet. He's probably got a blue one, a white one AND and an orange one. Can you not see why he's so pissed. Seriously, that's like $300 worth of gear just collecting dust.

THANKS ELWAY!

They could replace him with Carradine or D. Moore in the 1st round. But it's a wasted draft pick. Been over that before.

According to you, you have to trade up for a pass rusher. And the cupboard is empty after the first round, right price?

And Rahim Moore was reading the run on his gaffe play, and was told to have underneath coverage. It was ALL Tony Carter's fault!

He denies saying this, but he did.

I haven't used the ignore feature in a long time, but pricejj and his partner in crime MagicHef are damn close to getting it. So close to the draft too.

Wrong. I said at least Moore made a play for the ball. Carter did nothing. Turns out the Broncos agree with me. Moore will be starting at FS again this year, and Carter will rarely see the field.

Jeff Legwold agrees with me too:

Cornerback Tony Carter, lined up six yards off Jones at the snap, was supposed to jam Jones before the receiver got through the five-yard contact zone. If no receiver was in the flat in the shorter area near the sideline, and there wasn't Carter was supposed to follow Jones up the sideline after the jam. He did neither.

Safety Rahim Moore is then late to Jones on a poor angle and misplayed the ball. Jones, in a well-played coverage look, shouldn't have even been an option for Flacco on the play.

The way I look at it, they have about 3 options to adequately replace Dumervil at RDE this offseason:

1. Carradine or D. Moore at #28 (both likely go be off the board)
2. possibly Jamie Collins at #58 (which you have mentioned)

I'd like to see a #1/#2 of Carradine/Sio Moore, or maybe Te'o/Collins...but if they want to replace McGahee, they'll have to do it in the 2nd round. All of this leaves SS completely unresolved until at least the 3rd round, which is lame.

Plenty of safeties to be had in the middle rounds.

Collins is a better fit as a 3-4 OLB or 4-3 SOLB.. I understand where you are going with your prospect targets, but the draft is plush with DEs, OLBs, and Safeties.. If you want I can do a 1-5 round projection of strictly RDE who would be solid on passing downs, like I did in my other thread, just not with OLBs.

I think the Broncos need a complete player at RDE.

I would be happy if the Broncos picked Collins with their 1st pick (like Wolfe), if Carradine/Moore are gone. He could be gone by 58. It's no problem that he has 3-4 OLB skills, he's big and physical enough to play on the DL, and has shown good ability to rush the passer. He could develop into a special player. I'm sure he wouldn't start this year, but he would get a lot of PT behind Ayers leading into 2014.

You are so frustrating.

You said the coaches told him he had underneath coverage and that he probably was looking for the run, absolving Moore of the guilt. THATS WHAT YOU SAID.

Rahim Moore took two steps forward at the snap. I believe he was looking for something underneath before he released and backpedaled. Not sure if he was coached to do that, or not. Milus was fired shortly thereafter. Watch the tape.

Any safety playing a deep third should have deep third responsibility. If Moore took a couple steps forward, thats more than likely on him. And he definitely wasn't playing the RUN like you had suggested.

You really think it was in the plan to have Tony Carter cover Jones one-on-one down the sideline?

Watch the tape. And get ****ed.

Notes about Vickerson/Bannan 2012 (base defense):
1. Dumervil and Miller would switch from right to left frequently.
2. The 1-tech would shade the Center on Miller's side every time.
3. Vickerson played LDT, and Bannan played RDT.
4. If Miller played at LDE Vickerson was 1-tech (Bannan was 3-tech at RDT).
5. If Miller played at RDE, Bannan was 1-tech (Vickerson was 3-tech at LDT).

Notes about Vickerson/Knighton 2013 (base defense):
1. Knighton has always played RDT for Jacksonville. I project him at RDT for the Broncos.
2. Vickerson played well at LDT in 2012, and I project him to stay at LDT in 2013.
3. Therefore, I project both will play 1-tech/3-tech depending on which side Miller is lined up without switching sides themselves.
