Default Jamarcus Russell Comeback 2013

Apparently there is a video series following him on Bleacher Report.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...s-hits-the-gym

JaMarcus Russell knows a good majority of the people following his comeback are focused on one thing: His weight.

He also knows there are plenty of people writing him off before NFL teams even have a chance to give the former number one overall pick a look to see if he's serious about trying to get back into the league.

Today, we follow Russell into the gym and watch as he pushes himself with the goal of getting back into the NFL hanging over every movement, every bead of sweat.

lol, people saw this coming a mile away. Russell got a huge paycheck for being drafted, then got released, now he's probably broke and he needs more money. All this being said, he's still my all time favorite faiders QB EVAH! He's a legend. Thank you for the memories JaMarcus, I wish you well.

A 315 lb guy losing 20 lbs is like a 200 lb guy losing 5.

I think its funny that he thinks 270 lbs is a good goal. I don't care if you are 6'7". 270 lbs is a good goal at that height if you look like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

J. Russell should look at getting down to 250-255 with his lack of muscle.

quarterback is such a cerebral position. The guys with the most arm strength are hardly ever the most successful.

Or maybe he's been incredibly humbled and wants to prove he's not a joke.

I hope he works hard and gets a job somewhere.

yah, maybe. I guess we will see. Also, if he plays at 270lbs and can be successful then I think that is actually an advantage. I look at Ben Roethlisberger as an example of a big QB who can stand in the pocket yet be mobil enough to escape the rush. A big body is harder to bring down and might protect against injury better than a super trim yet more athletic Russell.

Russell was always a statue anyway. I assume he can wear 270 OK.

All that's missing is the Rocky "gonna fly now" song playing in the background.

Actually, since he is training with Jeff Garcia (who's seen in the videos helping Jamarcus Russell). They should train on the beach.

I'm pulling for him. If he's committed, he has the physical tools to be a good QB, I can't speak to the mental part. We'll see I guess. If he's truly committed, he's got a good shot.

If this is the case he needs to start practicing the phrase "would you like fries with that?"

What's funny is in a carefully controlled workout and edited video, he could still look very impressive throwing. The dude could absolutely rip the ball even if he's morbidly obese. Such a waste of talent.

I'm just glad someone finally found a project truly worthy of Bleacher Reports staff's obvious gifts and talents.

Such a huge talent that could have been a great NFL qb - not good, great. Too bad he's mentally retarded.

College lingo: to pull a "Jamarcus" is when you completely miss the table while playing beer pong.

What a clue that your franchise quarterback will end up a bust might look like.

Why the hell would anyone assume that the primary concern about this idiot is his weight? Sure, it's a problem. You know what else are problems? 1) He's a moron with a terrible attitude, 2) he's a ****ing awful quarterback.
