Here is part of Rob Rang's take on him.
Yeah, Datone Jones would be a good strongside DE. I watched the Senior Bowl, and he did okay from the left side. Nothing spectacular. Who cares if he was able to push Ricky Wagner back.

If you're considering him for RDE...you're out of your freaking mind. That's funny you think he will get more than ~5 sacks a year going against NFL LT's.

Gonna need a little more than that pilgrim.

Trade up for Damontre Moore if he's still there at #22. Otherwise, Broncos won't be able to replace Elvis the Traitor for several more years.
Just curious: serious question. How old are you?

It would have been nice to have Jones take over Wolfe's spot, and for Wolfe to move inside to UT (which we discussed a couple months ago)...but that isn't happening with the addition of Knighton. Jones (like Ayers), is not a good replacement for Dumervil.

Watch how many times he is lined up over center. He was never going to be a pass rusher the way UCLA used him last year.

Abraham just doesn't like the broncos. Looks like we don't like him. The draft. Ayers and co will not get 12 sacks in a community type roll. Just going to have to step up in other areas. Like scoring alot of points.
Yeah who knows, Ayers and company could get 8 sacks, play the run better, maybe get some tips. It all adds up. We'll be fine. In the end, we lost to the eventual Superbowl champs, had them on the ropes and we didn't get many sacks that game. We can play solid and do alot of things - be confident.

Saying **** them at their price isn't an actual answer to the problem. They need a credible move to address DE outside of the draft.

Really? Really!!?? Denver cut him because they thought he wasn't worth the money. Then they try to sign him to a 3 year $18 million deal and the Ravens offered him a 5 year $35 million deal. I am the biggest Broncos' fan in the world and I would have taken the Ravens' deal.

If the Broncos want to really replace Doom they need a speed rusher, period. I don't give a flying cow turd about "good against the run". SPEED RUSHER. For a DE it absolutely matters how fast he moves, how quick and powerful he is.

No, it's not a must-have-at-any-cost proposition. The defense isn't going to fall apart if we role with Ayers and Jackson and maybe a rookie pass rush specialist. Freeney is not the type of player anymore who can raise a defense to another level. Would he be a potentially valuable role player? Sure. But you don't pay a role player $6 million.

Freeney isn't even a credible answer at DE, regardless of price tag.

I can guarantee you it won't be Freeney for $6M. If it is, the FO can start packing their bags now. If Elway isn't laughing that fool out the door, he needs to get his head examined. Apparently these greedy players are getting the impression that Elway is a pushover. Take a pass on that one, enjoy retirement Dwight. Lose our phone number please.

On the other hand...Dumervil is worth 5 years $35M, can't believe the Broncos didn't offer at least that much. If they stayed at 3 years $18M they're fools.

You can't argue with 12.5 sacks, 85 tackles, and 21 TFL's as a Junior. Speed, size, strength, height...none of it is important (as Dumervil, and Suggs have shown).

The only thing that's important is "can this guy pressure and sack the Quarterback on a consistent basis"?

Damontre Moore fits the bill. He's not a one year wonder (72 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and 17.5 TFL's as a Sophomore).

Oh, and BTW...he's only 20 years old.

Doom's production has kind of fallen off. Some players prefer the money, and some prefer the Lombardi. He made his choice and he'll see us make ours from the comfort of his living room.

I'd be happy with Moore in the second round, but not in the first. I think he has potential but it's really disappointing he couldn't get his act together for the combine, that's all I'm saying. I know you like him, fine.

Actually, if I just want a speed rusher from the outside who yes, may be somewhat of a liability against the run but so what, he brings havoc from the outside and a defense will have to account for him, I trade out of the first and back into the second round and get Lemonier...

I actually agree with Pricejj here. I think Datone Jones is a solid player, but if the broncos intend to replace Doom with a Doom like pass rusher, then Moore is a better fit. I like him too. Regardless of the combine, he's got a good motor on the field.

Big bob Ayers can be just as effective as doom was in the playoff game and even more so if he doesnt jump offsides. Doom got a huge offsides that gave Baltimore a 1st down and led to score vs a punt.

Please just get Tommy Kelly. Inside pass rush goes BOOM.

Wolfe, Kelly, Knighton, and any random dude would be killer.

deal is actually a 5 year 26 million.

Denver offered more guaranteed money.

Slice it how you like. He wanted out of here. And now I hate him. As any true fan would.
