Meh 10 sacks is like 1000 yrds rushing or 3000 yrds passing now. It's 15 plus sacks the big bly pass rushers get now. We can replace pressure from Dooms side with Abraham or Freeney. Use the extra money to grab another vet when a good one pops up cheap.

Then hit the draft and grab either a young DT or a young DE.

Are you forgetting that Peyton chokes in the playoffs? The Broncos will make the Superbowl when Peyton retires

See ya later. I don't think we're any worse off with Abraham or Freeney opposite Von.

that is a lie. plus... you think the Ravens care? They finally have someone that can rush the passer outside of Suggs. They showed more interest and effort in signing Doom that the one they showed for signing Kruger. That should tell you all you need to know about what they value more.

Ill take the loss of 10 sacks if it means 7-14 points more a game. Welker and his 3rd down conversion skills will do just fine.

That would be great. But after 4 years and 6.5 sacks later, I am not holding my hopes up.

Where are you guys getting the "he took less money" bit.

Schefters reporting 8.5. I don't think we ever went higher than 8. And I don't think their offer after the ****up was even that high.

Anyway its a far cry from the 6 mil some people on here were saying he was worth. Bad day for the defense. Sours me considerably on what could have been a great FA season.

There's still a plathora of outside options.. Abraham and Freeney are the obvious.. Osi isn't a Falcon yet.. Then you have 3-4 options like Phillips and Harrison.. Internal options like Ayers and Beal.. And there's the draft..

Yup. We are better now than we were at the beginning of the month. And there's still the draft.

“As we have from the start of this process, we worked diligently over the last week to find a way for Elvis Dumervil to remain a Denver Bronco. Although we made multiple contract offers to Elvis after being forced to release him, we were unable to reach an agreement and are now moving forward without him.

“Elvis was a team captain and a talented player who made a great impact during his seven seasons in Denver. I appreciate all of his effort on the field and the work he did in the community.

"I wish Elvis all the best as he continues his NFL career.”
Actions speak louder than words. If Dumervil was such a lynchpin of the Broncos defense, they wouldnt have let him get away. No way in hell.

He's real good, but there's only two guys that we CANNOT afford to lose. Von Miller and Peyton Manning. As long as they suit up, I feel fine.

The Brocnos when they played a 3-4 let him rush the passer almost all the time if I remember correctly. I can't remember him making plays in the passing game at OLB.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 16m
Ravens are giving former Broncos DE Elvis Dumervil a five-year deal worth up to $35 million, including $8.5 million in year one.

Time for Abraham!

Only had one less sack than Dumerville this past season. Still has plenty of tread on the tires.

Glad the nonsense is finally over and Dumervil actually made a decision. Now lets finish the build and get ready for a solid draft.

Lol. He won't finish that contract.

One thing I've never questioned w Fox is good DL play and rushing the passer. His teams have always been very good there. Bad part is its one more position we have to look at come April. Ayers & Wolfe need to step up.

They have Suggs and Upshaw as well. Doom had no one worthy of replacing him on the field in Denver. Good luck with that in Baltimore.

Link?

This is one of those things where I'll just trust the Broncos staff to make the right decision. Freeney/Abraham...whoever they feel is best.

@AdamSchefter: Elvis Dumervil got $1 mil base salary this season, plus $7.5 million signing bonus. He makes $8.5 mil this year, with cap number at $2.5 m.

@AdamSchefter: Ravens also gave Elvis Dumervil $3.5 million injury guarantee on next year's option bonus, making it $12 million in guaranteed $ from BALT.
