Not a huge fan of the Holloman selection. He's pretty much been a Safety at South Carolina until they moved him to their goofy hybrid position this year, which is still pretty much a Safety. It's kind of like that Big Nickel thing we used to do with Sam Brandon, and to a degree what the Steelers did for awhile with Polamalu.

I wouldn't draft him to play LB, he's never done it. He's a specialty player at best that might develop over time.

There were some better options at LB for sure.

Just my opinion though.

I see DJ Hayden just jumped into No3 on Mayock's CB rankings.

I saw that too. Was pretty shocked really. He's not thinking about the medical with that ranking, which is the biggest concern for me, but the fact Mayock thinks his talent alone should have him that high is quite surprising.

Maybe I'm going to look like a moron (moreso than normal) for not liking the selection, but I still am not convinced he even gets drafted because of the medical issue.

I really like the last two selections. Alot.

Hodges was my #2 remaining prospect. I think he goes in the 3rd Round of the real draft. Really a phenominal LB several years running at Linebacker U. He reminds me a lot of Daryl Washington, whom is ALL-PRO caliber ILB in Arizona's 34 defense. I think this is a great fit as a 3 down ILB in Baltimore's defense, effectively replacing Ray Lewis, at least in terms of snaps. I think Hodges would have been great in any scheme and probably should have come off the board much earlier. I like that by playing the JACK role inside, he still gets to freelance and play in space, but his lack of elite speed is hidden much better than if he was at WILL in a 43.

Andre Ellington was my#5 remaining prospect. He's going to go much higher than this once he gets healthy and works out. He's pretty electric. He can chip in on kick returns as well.

Both of these were incredible draft values in my book.

Devin Taylor was ridiculous value at this point as well. Really a great pick for the Lions. He has prototype size and athleticism for a 43 end, the only question is why his production tailed off and plateaued the longer he stayed in college. Especially playing across from Clowney.

Regardless, I think it was a great selection and easily one of the Top 10 guys remaining at this point.

I don't think the Colts would have taken him for OLB, so I don't think this hurts Mediator thus far. I don't know, he might actually be able to play that position too.

Devin Taylor has very, veeeery unusual measurables. 6' 7" tall, with a 36-inch reach, and runs a 4.72 forty? Wow -- don't think I've ever seen that combination in a prospect.

In addition, he started 40+ games over 4 seasons in the SEC, and was voted All-SEC by the coaches in his sophomore year. As MUG said, it's a real mystery why he didn't have better stats once Clowney started playing opposite him.

Great pick in the 5th round by DBroncos4Life).

Thanks. I know the Lions talked with him so they must believe he can fit the scheme they run.

True, in terms of sheer measureables, Javon Kearse probably comes closest.

I almost didn't.. which is funny cause I have been talking him up along with DB4L, who made a thread specifically about him. But I pulled the trigger last second..

Is Atlanta transitioning to a 3-4?

If two more drafters select, I will get a hold of sirhcyennek to pinch draft.

I had the best birthday weekend ever. I am not going to explain, but I am sorry for missing my pick. Just did not realize I would be gone for 72 hours.....

Sanders Commings was a great selection. He was in my top 10 from awhile ago too, meaning he was one of the top 5 guys remaining at this point on my board. How are you going to use him Mediator? CB/scheme? Safety? Big nickel?

Strong selections lately. It's taking some time, but at least when people are picking, they're getting really good talent. A lot of excellent value in the 5th round so far.
