What an attitude by Stokley. I hope we get WW signed, but I'll miss Stokley. Such a critical role player for us and an easy dude to root for.

With Welker in the slot, you could keep Dressen on one side and then just keep Kuper and make him the blocking TE on the otherside. He'll never catch a pass, but he'll sure block better then any TE out there. Hahahaha that would be so funny.

You know him and Manning are thinking best passing attack in the NFL territory.
No dude. DT to slot and Welker to outside

Would be a terrific addition to an already lethal pass offense.

While Broncos are pushing to sign Wes Welker, was told it still could go either way regarding a return to NE. Nothing definite yet

Bastard is using us. Are we really going to pay welker 10 mil a year? The Pats offered him an 16 mil 2 year contract last year and he refused.

Which contrasts with the almost certainty in the Michael Silver tweet and article he just posted:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--so...195416566.html

I'm pretty sure people have ascertained before that Silver basically has a direct line to Elway since they're buddies?

I think if we drive his price up and he goes back to NE it will be a small victory. Particularly if we then spend the $$$ on a bigger need!

I always thought Silver was a Raiders guy.

Someone on the Pats board stated they saw 4 years $45 million for Welker.

Welker doesn't want to leave NE. He's using the Broncos get more from NE. If he really wanted to play here he would have signed by now.

This is the attitude I'm trying to take. I never considered it a serious possibility that we would even pursue Welker, so I won't feel like much as lost. Still, it will be hard not to be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

No, me neither. Too many other needs. Welker is a luxury we can, but shouldn't, afford. And as I said earlier, definitely say bye-bye to Doom and any other possible bigger signings if they do this deal.

First bad sign was why is he only talking to us? Should be other teams out there who can pay more. Only reason I can think is he wants to scare Bill with the prospect of playing for their main conference rival next year.

Looks like a good probability that Welker ends up a Bronco now. Just to clarify: Wes is physically in Boston, not Denver right now.

That sneaky midget! He's like a kid going between parents to get his way.

Bastard would be a b**** to play poker with. Goes to his teams up-and-coming conference rival for added leverage.

We've already got a place kicker Wes! Keep your red white and Brady balls rag jersey. Your blue eyes would be too distracting in orange and blue anyway...Wes...Wes? Don't goooooooooo!

We very easily could have won the Super Bowl with the team as is. As fans, we tend to overstate what our "needs" are. In the salary cap era, every team has weak spots. You don't have to (and, really, can't) fill every need area. Welker would definitely make us a better team.

Yup... but you do have to wonder... what the hell is Mays still doing on the team?
