If Welker signs, not many can say they caught 100+ balls a year from both Tom Brady and Peyton Manning...

I think Stokely would retire. Our 4th WR would need to play ST

I have a bad feeling we're just getting a little Welker dick tease here so he can watch Billbel's sack twist in the wind a little bit.

In the end, he probably still goes home. Or maybe Broncobeav's just playing the pessimist again.

Peyton Manning's call, not Brandon's. He will be ready to play if called upon and I don't see Peyton letting him go.

I'm sure the Pats would've traded Welker for Moreno...wtf?

Some reaction from Patriot fans about this...

Congrats BB, you have seriously downgraded our team and created one of the best WR trios in the last 10 years on an AFC rival!

This would be a great move we need a more dynamic slot receiver. We should have exposed the ravens in the middle

Obviously not straight up, come on, but both guys were tied up in the doghouse. A guy like Moreno would probably turn out to be a star in NE.

Agreed. Unless maybe Gase was serious about opening things up. Would suck to put another $10 mil out on the field on offense just to have him watch Willis ground and pound for 2 yards on the 3rd and 5's.

I tend to agree with you. Hopefully we are both wrong. If nothing else, Denver will probably make NE spend more $ then they wanted to.

This. Would Welker make our offense better? Of course. But we already had the #2 scoring offense in the NFL without the guy. After giving up 38 to the Ratbirds, defense should clearly be a bigger priority.

I'd honestly be more excited if we got Dansby than Welker. We've been inept at MLB since Al Wilson's career was cut short. Imaging how much MORE effective Von and Woodyard would be if other teams also had to account for our MLB.

I also agree with the other poster that said this would hurt New England more than it would necessarily help us.

Broncos deal with Patriots WR Wes Welker "very likely," according to a league source.

Yeah, stokes & welker in the slot (OMG, same slot?) would be as much of a match-up nightmare as Gronkowski/Hernandez.

You know it was Brady's wife that started the Welker bashing as she was leaving SB, right?

first off, you dont know what he'll sign for.

Secondly, wes welker is a better player.

Just because they play the same position in no way means they play the same role.

I'm sorry but it's just not the same.
Welker is younger, faster and more dynamic.

I love me some Stokes, but to compare the 2 at this stage in their respective careers is... you know.

Elway has been balls out awesome so far. This is a win, win, win

1.) You sign WW and you get the best slot receiver in the game. DT, Decker, Welker would probably be the best WR trio in the league.

2.) You don't sign WW, but you drive the price up and to a certain extent hurt the deathstar in the process.

Stockley is not even half the weapon that Welker can be. Love me some Stockley, but the only reason he is still playing is because of Manning needing his blanket.
