But I'm sure the Broncos FO have it all figured out and they'll only sign the right guys who earn every dollar of their contract.

I don't feel like any of these guys are worth the big fa bucks except knighton, who could be a good fit with del rio.

But mendenhall? Fumbles more than mcgahee.

Freeney? An older, less talented dumervil.

Drc? An inconsistent corner who gets called for penalties on a consistent basis.

If this ends up being their crop of fa's I'll be pretty bummed. Why cut doom for these shmucks

You've been b****ing and moaning about the front office not signing a number of players you wanted last offseason, and now your reversing field to "[f]ree agents rarely turn into value signings." Well, which is it? When the Broncos value shopped (outside of Manning) the last two offseasons rather than "backing up the brinks truck," you cried and complained. Now you're going to cry and complain that they might actually make some moves? And, by the way, let's not forget that the approach this front office has taken that you've been critical of has reveresed a 4-12 team to a 13-3 legit Super Bowl contender in two seasons. That's not sucking off the front office, it's the facts.

Yep. What some fail to see is the fact that some of these defensive players are playing better than their ability because dumervil is on the same field. I expect to see a drop in production from Woodyard too.

I am not going to worry about it because I believe that via the draft, FA or current players that Dumervil's production can be replaced.

Nobody is saying this isn't without risk. Stop being naive. I think those of us who see the bigger picture (because it is obvious that you can't with your incessant bickering about losing Dumervil) can HOPE / BELIEVE that Dumervil's production can be replaced in a tandmen approach at his position, and that the money saved by his release and others (Willams, Mays, etc.) will allow the Broncos to get creative and add some more playmakers to the squad.

But you already got it all figured out. There will never be the opportunity to get a 9-10 sack a year guy from the DE position ever again, regardless of what approach or avenue we take.

With Fox and Del Rio around, I doubt they will stand pat when Dumervil is gone and say we will just use what we have and they're good to go. They will look to address pass rushing, that even with Dumervil, vanished at key times, especially when Miller was wearing a cast. It would be great to keep Dumervil, but I'm sorry, for people to write off the season for an undersized DE who was MIA in big games is silly to me, especially since free agency just started and the draft is still yet a month away. How about waiting at least to see what other moves are made. Besides, I felt more help was needed on the DL even with Dumervil around, so this changes nothing for me at least.

Great post. Apparently to some we'd be better off with Tebow (or whatever scrub we brought in to replace him) and Doom than with PM and whoever they add this offseason.
