I'm gonna miss the VonDoom combo.

Maybe this will be a DJ situation where Woodyard came in and showed he was a better WILL. Doubt it, but let's see what Hunter/Ayers/Jackson can bring.

If we bring in a CB in FA, I bet we go DE in round 1/2 now.

This pretty much sucks.

He requested his release.

He's good as gone -- trade or release.

Keep in mind the Broncos wanted to keep him....but at a reduced price. Bang for the buck, and the Broncos felt they weren't getting it from him. He decided not to restructure and I'm sure he knew it would mean his inevitable release.....so, while most on here will whine and moan...this is evidently what Doom wanted.

no, pretty much all reports say they want to reduce his salary not restructure his deal. If it were a cap restructure it probably would have been done. I think what Doom wants is to play for the $$$$ he signed up for. If he can't do that, he would probably like to be released in time to make as close to that amount as possible. I'm finding it hard to blame Doom for his role in this.

Von should be upset. He's the one that will attract double teams now. QBs aren't afraid of hunter and ayers. Together they won't even get 10 sacks

He is gone. See ya. I'm not sad about it. He just disappeared too much anyway. That money he is getting will be put to good use. He doesn't want to help the team. Wish we had more leverage and could fix a trade up, but it is what it is. The defense will get by. And IMO we'll be in good shape and won't notice hes gone much.

If this happens, there better be a serious spending spree in free agency..

You sure? FA has just begun and the draft hasn't even started yet. A little premature brah. Who is the psychic your consulting?

Jimmy the Greek.

In all seriousness a rookie at 28th isn't coming in with 12-15 sacks 6 FFs and multiple QB rushing into mistakes. Win now is supposed to mean putting the best possible players on the field for manning. The window isn't open for long.

Nothing that hunter and ayers have shown me to think otherwise.

Dumervil isn't bringing 12-15 sacks either.

He's way more likely to do so than anyone we are going to replace him with.

. Nice! Probably true, but if everything goes as planned and we are playing with a lead most games, guys will get a lot of opportunities to get to the QB. I know Ayers didn't get a lot of time on the field last season, but I am kinda high on him this year. Like other posters have mentioned. Rio liked him coming out of Ten. Lets see if Rio can get the most out of him.
