The agent for Chicago Bears DL Henry Melton confirmed Friday, March 8, that his client has "accepted" his franchise tag, and will sign in the near future. Melton will be guaranteed $8.45 million under the tag. His agent said the focus will now be to concentrate on a long-term deal that will reduce the salary-cap number while providing stability for Melton. The agent has until July 15 to work out a new contract for Melton.

Think we're interested in upgrading the corner position?

I don't understand some of the players we are taking a look at..? Robinson, really? Cason, really?

Patriots are going to make a run at Wallace or Jennings coupled with Welker.. Watch.

The Broncos aren't looking for a #1 corner here, they're looking for depth. Nothing wrong with Cason. He's a solid 2nd or 3rd corner. Grimes could be a steal if he comes back from his achilles injury strong. He was one of the top corners in the league before the injury.

I must be one of a few people that believe Welker doesn't want to be a Patriot.

I would love Welker and the safety from SF.

Beaye Beigh Thomas aside, achilles injuries still scare me. Especially for a CB who depends on good feet and fluidity. We are clearly looking to upgrade CB depth, though. I like the Cason idea and right now I'm glad the Chefs were the ones to sign Robinson rather than Denver.

BTW, awesome thread. Thanks, Eddie Mac.

If your last sentence proves true, then I understand why our priority has been at CB.

Well according to the talking heads Welker only really fits the Pats and maybe the Seahawks. I guess 30 other teams don't need a WR that gets open and moves the chains.
I think Elway would love both those players as well, he just needs a DE to restructure his contract first.

You must have missed the part where he told his team mates he doesn't trust the Pats.

Gholsten would be a huge upgrade and our foundation at safety for a long time. But I think he's wanting big money.

The front office and he doesn't like McDaniels...

Like I said his heart is there, but there's a reason he isn't locked up yet..

I think they'll end up doing the draft route. If they won't give welker money they probably won't give Wallace money?
